I apologize for the few and far between posts.  This month is crazy with family things going on.  We just got back from a Mother's Day Weekend trip to see my Daughter and watch her coach her volleyball team, spent mother's day golfing and flew back on Monday.  Thursday I leave to drive to Northern California to spend the weekend with my family - my German relatives are coming.  I come back Sunday and leave on Wednesday for an Alaskan cruise for my Husbands 60th birthday! WHEW!  But the cool thing is I can keep working which is the joy of having done this business for 20+ years.

Retiring Lists!

All the Retiring Lists are out!  And they are long!    The best way to see what is retiring is to visit my online store and scroll through the retiring items.  If you click on the retiring stamp list you will be able to scroll through all the stamp sets.

Retiring Accessories are while supplies last!  And some are at a great discount!  So if you have something you really can't live with out don't wait.  That said there are a few items on the list that are actually just being reconfigured.

Stamp Pads  - Stampin' Up! is going to firm foam pads.  A different type of stamping surface that:

• Provide better ink coverage for your stamps!
• Light-tap stamping produces flawless images!
• Pad stays juicier for longer resulting in better ink pad longevity!

In addition, our new Stampin' Pads

• Have a crisply printed, glossy label on the top of the pad that is easier to read and that will not fade or chip off!

The paper and markers are not being discontinued. Packaging is being reconfigured  but these are the changes:

• Only select Stampin' Write Markers will be available individually (Stampin' Write Markers in color collections will continue to be offered)
• 12" x 12" Textured Card Stock will no longer be offered
• 12" x 12" Smooth Card Stock will only be available in select individual colors and color collections.

Now for the really good news!  Starting May 1, Stampin' Up! is introducing a $99 completely customizable Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Starter Kit!  This means if you sign up to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator you will receive $125 of Stampin' Up! Here are a couple of reminders - Ordering online through my online store is the best way to get your retiring items before they run out.  When ordering online be sure to create an account and designate me as your demonstrator.  When your merchandise reaches $150 you will be eligible to receive Stampin' Rewards.  Don't forget that the Occasions Mini-Catalog is ending on April 30 so be sure to add these to your order!

And remember if, preferred customers (purchased $100 since July 1, 2012 from me!) will be the first to receive their 2012-2013 Stampin'  Up! Catalog from me in Mid-May.  If you reach this preferred status by the end of April - you will be the first in the mail!

Happy Birthday Summer Smooches

OK, Here is a Happy Birthday Card with Summer Smooches.  I combined it with an unsual stamp set - You're My Type, from the Occasions Mini.  It is the birthday card for a daughter of a friend who is a brand new lawyer.  I thought it would be fun and I hadn't even inked the stamp set.  Shame!

I thought it turned out a happy little card.  The fabric buttons are just too stinking cute.  The lucky limeade bakers twine added a nice touch and some texture.  The Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper is a fun grouping of paper.  I love that each of the sheets has one side that is bright and the other side is monochromatic. We are making 2 projects during Simply Stamp Time in April.  They are really stinking cute!

Summer Smooches and Simply Stamp Time

Today, starts the special Summer Smooches.  Stampin' Up! is offering an assortment of product as a sneak preview from the 2012-2013 Idea Book & Catalog.  These products are part of the Summer Smooches Suite.  Almost everything being offered will be in the catalog but not the cute Fabric covered buttons and stencil.  You can order any (or all!) of these products during April. 

During the April Simply Stamp Time we will be making 2 of our 4 projects using product from this offering - yes, including the cute fabric buttons!

Here is a couple of past projects from Simply Stamp Time.

I copied the basic idea for this from a project I saw on Pinterest.  Basiclly I loved the Cherry Cobbler Butterfly over the First Edition Butterfly over the circle opening with the diagonal score.  The rest I changed!  Everyone loved this card!

One thing I love about Simply Sent is that any one of any age can make these cards. I have been using these for a long time. These new sets are one of the cutest ones because they use the new colors and the gorgeous satin ribbon we have. I love ribbon and having them pre cut is great! The tags on the cards are already pre punched so all you do is feed it through the tag, or wrap it around the card then tie the ribbon. How much easier then that can you get? I don’t think very.

Here is an up close picture of one of the tags, with a little pearls on them to add an extra girly touch.

Simply Sent From Emily

Hi Everyone,

I'm Tami's Daughter-In-Law Emily (see photo below with Chris, my husband and Shadow, my stampin' buddy).

I did not grow-up around Stampin' Up! so this is all new to me. I decided to get into it after I got sick of not having cards around the house for last minute use and store bought cards just seemed boring. I will admit - I was intimidated at first, have you seen the photos of some of those cards in the catalog? And, I don't have a ton of time on my hands - so Tami suggested I try Simply Sent to see how I like it.  Here is how Round 1 went!  

I chose the Simply Sent Everyday Elegance Card Set with the coordinating Everyday Wishes stamp sent and Classic Stamp Pads in Basic Grey and Cherry Cobbler. The cards looked easy enough to make while still looking great! The card below is the Baja Breeze version with Basic Grey ink.

Three things I really love about these cards are 1) the tags are self adhesive for minimal/easy assembly, 2) the tags look great wherever you put them on the card, and 3) they are super fast to make (I made all 8 in about 10 minutes)!

Cookie Press Fun with Liz!

Cookie Press Fun! Let's get to baking!

 

So I never thought being with Stampin’ Up for so many years, since I was 2 years old, that Stampin’ Up would think of this. Cookie Press is so cool! If you love Stampin’ Up and love baking, which I love them both, than Cookie Press is for you! My mom told me to order the cookie press, and I was a little skeptical. It seemed a little farfetched to stamp cookies. She raved about it at Convention, which sadly I couldn’t attend, she said how cool, cute and tasty they were!

I got them in the mail and couldn’t wait to make these cookies and play with the press! There are three different presses for the holidays: a heart for Valentine’s Day, a pumpkin for Halloween, and a snowflake for winter and Christmas time. One thing I wish they had were a couple different presses for each holiday so when you made the cookies, there would be some variety on your plate. I’m sure they will come up with that knowing Stampin’ Up! :)

I mainly used the pumpkin press, because its Halloween season. But I tried the other ones out to see what they looked like! I have to say, this is pretty easy and very cute! (Just like my mom said, but don’t tell her she was right :) ) I noticed that you can get a deep image on the cookie, or a slight image depending on the amount you want. I would recommend trying a few different recipes making the cookies. I used the sugar recipe they gave us, which tasted a lot like shortbread. I noticed that the edges of the cookies broke apart and were easily burnt when cooked. I just would recommend using a different recipe and see the difference.

These are my cookies I made: The first picture is of the recipe in the Stampin’ Up pamphlet that came with the press and the second cookies are from another recipe book!

Timeless Portrait Suite

I have shared that I love the various suites of products that Stampin' Up! create in the catalog to make our crafting life easier.  Well, I think my favorite (at least for now) is the Timeless Portrait.  Page 78 of the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog caught my eye on the first pass through the catalog!  I was so excited at convention to see that there were more of these embroidery hoops decorated!

These were all hanging in a tree or propped around a park like setting in Stampin' Up! Product Park!

Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Get Together

Yes, I have finally set the date!  August 20th is the next INKERBELLES! Group Get Together.  This is for all my downline who are able to come to my home in Walnut Creek, CA!  We have a great day doing make & takes, sharing ideas, a short business meeting where we recognize achievements.  At this meeting I have asked those that attended the Stampin' Up! Convention to share their favorite thing!  I can't wait to see what these are.

These are a couple of the cards we made at the last INKERBELLES! Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Get Together.  I usually focus on the Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogs so for  August we will be using mostly the Holiday Mini!  These cards use the Flower Fest Stamp Set!  So quick and easy.  The card on the left is a simple no layer card made on our notecards that come with envelopes!  Cute and simple.  The one on the right is made by using the coordinating Fancy Flower punch.  Happy cards.  I love the sentiment!  It is from the set Happy Greetings which is in the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini and did not make it into the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog. That means it is only available until the end of August.  It has some great sayings.  If you would like your own hard copy of the Stampin' Up! Pennant Parade

One of the unique offerings Stampin' Up! makes is it coordination of product.  Groups  of product that work together seamlessly are designed to help us make great looking products.  In the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog a new stamp set Pennant Parade is designed to go with Petite Pennants Builder Punch.  On page 69 of the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog this stamp set is shown.  You can see around the pennants a light gray line.  This indicates a punch matches these shapes.  Below the images is a note which punch and on which page it is.  All through the catalog you will see this type of notation.  Makes it so easy to coordinate! LOVE IT!

This card is the one I made for my May Direct Demonstrators Incentive.  Each month demonstrators that are direct to me who meet certain benchmarks recieve a project and some free product!  Want to get a great gift each month from? - become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for $99 with me!  This project used the new Pennant Parade Stamp Set and Pettite Pennants Builder Punch.  May's incentive is always hard.  The incentives go out mid month of the following month - so June in this case.  This means that the retiring list is out and I can't order new product for them yet I want to make them a sample/project they can use for awhile.  This card worked well.  I used the stamp set and punch from my pre -0rder (another Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Perk) but was able to incorporate product on carryover - In color Desginer Series Paper Stacks, Glimmer Brads, etc.  For this month there gift was the stack of Designer Series Paper!  THis card was simple and fun.  I love the monochromatic them of it.

I am finding one of my new favorites is the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.  This set of three little punches is a great way to add just a little fluff to cards.

Hello, My Friend!

WOW! I can't believe this past week got away from me!  I have been busy getting my swaps (yes, I am actually doing an organized swap!), directs gifts (you want to be one of my directs - my convention gift is pretty dang awesome find how you can be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for $99 and attend convention next year!) and swaps for my directs dinner (again become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and attend convention and you will be able to participate!).  But they are finally done and ready to go.  So before I leave I am going to get some posts scheduled to go up and hopefully I will share a couple of things with you while I am there.  The best place to see stuff though is on my facebook - so be sure to go to my page Tami Waddell Creates and like me or become a fan or whatever it is and you will see some of the updates from convention.  Now onto the cute card-

This is one that I made from the pre buy stuff I could order.  The My Friend stamp set is just too cool - I love the swirlies onthis hello!  I am so glad the glimmer brads made it!  WHEW!  I am going through those by the bucket they just look so good!  I haven't used Poppy Parade very much so I am very happy that the In Colors are now around for 2 years since I just discovered this color combination and how happy it is.

I the viney flowery stamp in the stamp set is so great bold or just faintly in the background like I did on this one. 

Ok back to work!  need to pack and  finish getting organized!  Leaving early Tuesday morning!

Graduation Card

My Friends daughter recently graduated from Law School!  Yeah, Leslie!  I wanted to send her a card recognizing this great accomplishment!  I didn't have a graduation set that I felt was appropriate for this occasion but this word set Word Play from the Stampin' Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog was perfect and it is on sale this month with the National Scrapbooking Month Promotion.

The little key is still available on the carryover list and I thought was just a great addition to the card!  Of course if you have been following my card what card is not complete without First Edition Designer Seriees Paper!

Happy Birthday Don!

For my husband's birthday this past weekend, I finally finished the album of his umpire experience in Poland, Summer of 2009.  His passion is umpiring for Little League and spends most of his spare time doing that and spent 10 days at a tournament in Poland in 2009 and will be going again this summer.  He kept a blog of his experience and I turned it into a scrapbook for him.  You can read the details of the experience here Don's Poland Umpire Blog.  Here are just a few of the pages.

I wanted to give it the feel of a journal so I used the journal paper from the Love Letters download.  The rick rack and other strips are from the Terrific Trims. The papers for the stars and trips uses the Desktop calendar papers download.  I made it looked like all the papers and pictures were stapled or taped.

A local photographer came and took pictures of games to sell aso some of these great action shots I was able to get from him.

As you can see my husband takes his umpiring seriously.  The cool thing about this book is it is a way for him to share this experience and something his grandkids will get to see to learn more about their grandfather.  That is what is so important about getting these things down.

Congratulations Ali!

My beautiful niece Ali is graduating this weekend from college!  After my golf game  this morning we are off for the weekend to celebrate this fabulous accomplishment with  my wild and crazy family!  My daughter is even going to be there! WAHOO!

Of course I had to make a beautiful card for Ali!

I used the stamps set Word Play.  This is one of the stamp sets on sale this month for National Scrapbooking Month.  It haas some really cool and different words.  I used the Happy I do day on the wedding favors.

I am so proud of our Ali!  Way to go girl!  Can't wait to get there!

Demonstrator since 1991 and have recruited a lot of demonstrators and worked with a whole lot more. I would like to share with you what I share with people who come to me wanting to sign up with me.

• Find an Upline (that is who you sign up under!) that you can see yourself developing a relationship  with and you can see yourself working with. Relationships is one of Stampin' Up!'s core principles, and what makes being involved worthwhile.
• Don't just look for the best offer - find the best fit.
• If you are going to sign up with someone long distance do so understanding that sometimes that means you won't have local support. If you sign up with a demonstrator that does not mean a local demonstrator will be available for ongoing support. 
• Make sure your goals and your new uplines are clear and everyone is in agreement.  If your friend just does it for the discount and has no interest in growing a business and you do, do some research and find someone who will help you do that.
• Do plenty of research and ask questions.  If you are feeling pressured walk away and take a deep breath and talk to someone else as you evaluate!  Even if you are just wanting to sign up for the kit and plan on dropping, you want to enjoy that time.  At one time I did do another Mulit-level marketing company and just signed up randomly to get a discount. For the entire short time period I was bugged with emails and pressure to do more.  

I have been doing a number of Scrapbook Expos lately and spent a lot of time talking with Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who signed up and didn't do their due diligence to make sure they knew their options.  Yes, this Starter Kit offer is the BEST I have seen in my many years of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator but be sure to know your options!

Summer Mini

Here is a sample that uses a number of items from the Summer mini.  The Marvelous Stamp is from In A Word.  The little stars come in Itty Bitty Bits which has a great set of coordinating punches and little bitty buttons.  The striped paper is from the Travel Journal paper.  Chari B  did a great job on this!

 

This is one of the cards that Elizabeth P.  shared with us at our last INKERBELLES! Get Together.  She used a stencil and stamped and sponged over it.   Elizabeth is amazing - She won the Stampin' Up! Artisan Award this year! WAHOO!  Only 10 winners and they have to send in a number of samples!  She comes up with amazing things.

This card uses the Summer Mini stamp set Watercolor Trio.  I love the rich colors of Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and More Mustard.   The Kraft sets off the white and richness just right.  The kraft taffeta ribbon is just perfect!

Simply Stamp Time Again

Remember me teasing you with part of this project for last months Simply Stamp Time?  Isn't it gorgeous?  This is the pop-up we made using the Sneak Peak Two Step Stampin' Set Awash with Flowers.  This stamp set is coming out in the 2010-2011 Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog this July, but Stampin' Up! gave us the chance to get this set during April as part of the Two Step Into Spring Promotion.

TO make the pop-up you just make a little square for the flowers.
