I apologize for the few and far between posts.  This month is crazy with family things going on.  We just got back from a Mother's Day Weekend trip to see my Daughter and watch her coach her volleyball team, spent mother's day golfing and flew back on Monday.  Thursday I leave to drive to Northern California to spend the weekend with my family - my German relatives are coming.  I come back Sunday and leave on Wednesday for an Alaskan cruise for my Husbands 60th birthday! WHEW!  But the cool thing is I can keep working which is the joy of having done this business for 20+ years.

Summer Smooches Sympathy

This is called double tasking!  I felt like you all would like to see some cute samples with the Summer Smooches Suite of Products and I needed to send a couple of sympathy cards.  HMMM?  Doesn't quite seem like a match.  But I always try to teach my customers and demonstrators how to work with what they have.  So I decided to give it a try.  To make it even harder one of the sympathy cards is for a husband of a demonstrator friend!

How did I do?  I used the Loving Thoughts stamp set from the Occasions Mini for the greeting.  This set has alot of great words.  The images are from the Bright Blossoms Set that is currently available through the Summer Smooches Sneak Peak.  The Island Indigo and Pool Party combination I thought took it to a more manly look.  The Designer Series Paper is part of the Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper Pack.

Dates to Remember:

Summer Smooches Sneak Preview - the fabric covered button and stencil are only available during April.  The rest of the offering will be in the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog in June.

Occasions Mini -This is the last month for these products.  Then they are GONE!  There is a slight chance that items will be in the 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog but we won't know until the new catalog in June!

Retiring Lists - The list of Retired Stamp Set will be available April 15 and the list of retiring accessories will be available April 25.  Usually the retiring accessories are while supplies list so you will want to be ready to check it out and order.  The best way to do that is through my online store.

2012-2013 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog - This will be available June 1!  WOOHOO!  As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator I will get to see it in early May! Pretty Stuff!

Ok, today - not alot of talking just pretty stuff.  I have a bunch of pictures of pretty cards that I don't know who made them and so I am just going to put a bunch of them up the next few days.  If you see one that is yours - comment!  Enjoy!

No Layer Cards

This is a simple, easy, quick card.  I used our notecards and envelopes to make these.  Each month I recognize Stampin' Up! Demonstrators in my downline who are in the top 20 or who recruit 2 or more new Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.  I send out between 25 and 30 of these cards each month.  I usually stamp 2 different designs since demonstators that are in the top 20 usually are recruiting as well.  This card utilizes my favorite stamp set from the new 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog Kindness Matters.  I added Frame it for the Pool Party frame.  The colors I used include the 2011-2013 In Colors - Island Indigo and Pool Party.

Here are a couple of other ones I made.  I usually make a few extra so I always have a quick card on hand to send when I need it.

The notecards & envelopes are a great buy and a great way to make a stack of quick cards.  Add a little jewel or pearl or shimmer spray and it is a great card.

The demonstrators in my downline comment that they use these ideas for their workshop make & takes!  I give you a challenge to buy a package of these cards and see what you can come up with that has no layers!

Another quick way to make a bunch of cards is our Simple Sents.  These are a great special this month - Simply Marvelous Special.  Check out posts by Liz and Emily and what they did with these great kits.

A new stamper - Emily!

If you have been following my blog for awhile you will know my son got married this past February.  I assisted my daughter-in-law with a number of things for the wedding that I was able to do with Stampin' Up! Product - My Digital Studio, traditional and anything we could think of.

These are just a few of them.  Check the category wedding to see some of the other things we did.

  Emily and I had a good time working together (At least I think so!).  Well, Emily reads my blog periodically and commented that she wished she could come to one of my classes, so I offered to send her some stuff and see what she thought.  Well, she has now recieved a few boxes and created some cute projects.

Even my son commented that she was pretty good!  Here are a couple  of her cards

I am impressed. I do have to tease her.  While working on the wedding she wouldn't allow any pearls or rhinestones.  She does like them on her cards now!  In fact I have asked Emily to be a guest blogger.  I am on vacation while this is posting and there is a special starting on October 1st that was right up Emily's alley so you might want to check back in October to see what she shares.  Liz my daughter will also doing some guest blogging while I am gone.  I love watching new crafters start out.  Keep in mind these girls live in small apartments and have limited supplies.  They also enjoy decorating their apartments with our Decor Elements and I am sure you will be seeing some posts about these in the next few months!

Masculine Card

It thought this one was pretty masculine.  Don't you think?  I used the Mocha Morning Specialty paper which is just too rich, metallics and flocking and all the neutrals just scream GORGEOUS!  Combined with my favorite First Edition Designer Series Paper!  The ribbon is an offering from the Holiday Mini, Quilted satin and comes in Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso.  The sentiment is from the stamp set Word Play.  But I really loved the little red glimmer heart - it is punched with the owl punch. 

 

 

Summer Mini - Almost gone!

The Stampin' Up! Summer Mini ends August 31!  A number of items in the Summer Mini will no longer be around so be sure to double check your wish list. In the meantime here are a couple of cards from the Summer Mini.

Julie B. made this great card! I love how she leached the sails of the boat they look so cool on the crumb cake.

Elizabeth P. used this great set - Proud Peacock.  THe way she used the colored embossing powders is awesome.  Wild Wasabit cardstock layer looks like Designer Series Paper in the picture but it is really the flower from the stamp set stamped in white.  Love it!

Wedding Invites!

So if you read my blog you have seen some of the stuff I did for my son's wedding. I have had some people ask if I would do this for them!  YES!  Check out my page on doing invites for your special event.  Here is a couple of teaser pictures.

Sympathy Card

Unfortunately, not too long ago I had the need to send out 2 sympathy cards.  I wanted to make something that would make them smile.  This stamp set that is called Thanks for Caring from the Occasions Mini.  I really like it since just one of the sentiments is Sympathy but the other sentiments are ones I will use alot. (I hope I don't have to use the Sympathy one very much!)

The circle behind the sentiment I embossed with a folder and then sponged lightly with Crumb Cake.

One of the cards was for my daughter's boyfriend whose grandfather died, so on his I replaced the crocheted lace with twill tape and the fancy antique brad with a simple craft button. I think that made it a little more manly!

Ribbon and Vintage

This beautiful piece was on top of the packaging for a free stamp set!  Remember this really beautiful card?  Well at the breakfast we went to sitting at our place was a package with this attached to the top.  The detail is fabulous.  It almost makes me want to get out my sewing maching.(almost!)  The idea of putting the pearl on top of the trinket brad is pretty cool!  I love all the layers and texture.

Wedding Invitation - It came!

When I saw the envelope I couldn't figure out who was sending something to Tamara!  Then I realized it was the WEDDING INVITATION.

Ok, yeah I made them!  But still to finally get it in the mail and know that others are getting theirs was pretty exciting.

This is what it looks like when it came out of the envelope.  I used 12" textured paper for the outside.

The printed part I did on My Digital Studio and printed it on very vanilla on my printer.  Lots of cutting and layering later it sure looks spiffy.  I wanted a pearl on it but that was nixed!

I am so excited!

I recieved this card in the mail the other day!  Isn't it just yummy?  It is my invitation to the Stampin' Up! Advisory Board Reunion at our Leadership conference.  Each year at our annual Leadership Conference Stampin' Up! Hosts a breakfast for those demonstrators who have served on the Advisory Board.  It is a great time and who wouldn't get excited with such a lovely invitation!  Notice the litttle ribbon rosette in the middle of the flower?  It is one of the new product offerings in the Occasions Mini that starts on January 4th.  I am thinking we are going to do a card very similar to this at the next Simply Stamp TIme.  The flower texture is very cool.

Cards!

In recent weeks I have recieved a number of great get well and thank you cards from downline!

This card is from Deb Allen.  I love the use of Daffodil Delight and Basic Black.

This cute cad is from Pennie.  She does great coloring in.  The little touch of the apples colored in is perfect.  The little rick rack trim from the Terrific Trim Die for the Big Shot is great!

Nancy F. did this one the little strip of bling in the corner is such a great touch!

Birthday Card

Isn't this a great card?  I am in Alpharetta, GA for my old neighbors 25th wedding anniversary and her and her husbands 50th birthday.  Of course before I left I had to make some cute cards.  I love the happy feel of this card.  It is hard to tell from the picture but the Sweet and Sour Specialty Designer Series Paper has shiny parts to it.  So the dark Rose Red swirls  are actually shiny as well as other accents.  The flower I made by punching the large flower a number of times and running it through the corrugator a number of times to make them pliable.  I love the the little flower brad in the  middle of the button.  The ruffly ribbon is kind of my new thing.  We did the ribbon thing on a card this past month at Stamp Time.  Well, we are off to Melting Pot for dinner - YUM!  Combine that with Chick Fil A last night and fried chicken and sweet tea at lunch and I am in heavan.

Stampin' Up! Inkerbelles! Convention Dinner

Each year at the Stampin' Up! Convention I host a dinner for my first level downline.  As any good Stampin' Up! event should we had a swap.  

This was the card that Dena R. made for our swap.  Dena had a great year - she earned the Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip - a cruise to Alaska for 2! and Founder's Circle by being in the top 100 Stampin' Up! Demonstrators!  Congrats Dena!  You rock!

 

This was Elizabeth P. card.  Isn't it lovely?  Elizabeth also had a great year - she was awarded a Stampin' Artisan Award!  This is an award based solely on creative entries that you send in to the company.  She won a $500 shopping spree, $500 in cash and the best part was dinner with Shelli and Brent and the other Artisan winners.  It was a lovely evening.

 

This card was made by Jennifer B. She is one of my downline who has no upline between me and her so she joined us.  She also earned the cruise!  This

Scrapbook Expo Eye Candy

This arrangement was the center piece of our booth at the Santa Clara Scrapbook Expo.  Elizabeth P, Stampin' Up! Artisan Award Winner 2010, masterminded the whole thing.  THe rest of us, myself, Julie B. and Chari B. created the various boards and extras.  The middle of the booth used our new paper Elegant Soiree as the key component and then we went with the vintage shabby chic look.  It was definitely eye candy to behold.  When working with Elizabeth on this I find myself stretching my creativity and moving into new areas.  THis was fun to work on.  You will be seing lots of pictures of the projects that we did for display on the blog in coming weeks and as classes.  Here are some closeups of various elements.

Convention Sweet Shoppe - More Samples

Aren't these cute?  Wait till you see what I have in mind for a tree.  All today's pictures are from the Sweet Shoppe at convention.  I couldn't even begin to share the feeling you got when you walked into this area.  You have to have been there!

Featured Artist

I bet you thought I forgot all about Featured Artists.  But I didn't , I have just been busy.

Nancy F. sent me these great samples using Vintage Vogue from the Occasions Mini.  This is such a great set and so versatile.  She gave this as a class and everyone got to make these cards.  Don't you wish you could have gone to this class?  Congratulations Nancy claim your free catalog merchandise!

 

This one uses the scalloped border punch that was free during Sale-A-Bration but will be available for sale in the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog in July.

 

 

This card uses the wheel that coordinates with the set!

 

I love the use of the brushed silver cardstock with the perfect plum.
   

The little heart border punch is also in the Occasions Mini catalog.  Remember this brochure ends the end of April and who knows if it will be available again. 

 

 

I love the use of the Bridesmaid striped paper on this one.  The Blush Blossom is one of our retiring colors so be sure to stock up if you want to keep using this color.

More Sweet Peas!

I know enough with the Sweet Peas - but they are too stinkin cute and make a quick focal point for a card.  This card was made by Dena R. for our INKERBELLES! Leadership Dinner swap.  While I LOVE the use of Sweet Peas from our Occasions Mini, the feature that caught my eye on this card was the vellum layer under the Sweet Pea.  Dena stamped it in craft white ink, with the Happy Birthday from Well Scripted and a little tiny happy creating a background.  The vellum combined with the kraft and chocolate chip makes a cool look.

Just change the sentiment!

 Recently I had my Holiday Stamp A Stack.  Guests left with 20 cards all done 5 each of 4 designs.  If you check the post on that class you will see the same cards as those pictured above but with holiday greetings.  As I was prepping for the class I decided to put out the thank you sentiments from Thank you Kindly, as well as Four the Holidays.  So the next timeyou make cards realize that you can somtimes just change the sentiment and have adifferent card.

Fall is Here!

This card is from the exchange for the Holiday Mini.  Mary C.  made it.  I love the use of the Autumn Meadows Designer Series Paper.  The watercolor is awesome.  Fall always make we want to try watercoloring.  Not one of my strong points.

Here is another card with the same stamp set Julie B. made.

I love the Poppin' Pastel technique she used on the Leaf.  This is done by stamping the image in Versamark and then dabbing Pastels to the areas you want color.  I am better at this than watercoloring.  The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes - my current favorite greeting set.  I especially like if I can't stamp it straight I just use my  word window punch and add a layer to cover up my boo boo!
 
 

A Halloween Card

My friend Jill gave me this card at convention!  I think it is just a fun Halloween card.  I thought you might enjoy it.  Notice the use of the texture plate from the Big Shot to make the grid old olive background.

More Convention Swaps

 

These are some more swaps from the Convention Dinner with my directs.  I can't remember who made these.  We don't always put names on the back so that once we are done using them as samples they can be donated to Cards for Heroes. 

I like both of these cards for there simplicity.  The brown card uses the set Circle Circus which is just the most versatile set.  I seem to be pulling it out over and over.

Another Convention Swap

 

This was Nancy F.'s swap for the Convention Dinnner.  It is so adorable.  She told us how she did a class where the guests made a bunch of these little dresses.  THe belt is made using that Modern Lable punch - quite the multi use punch.  I love the scallop punch use to create the collar.

This card was made by Dena R. for our convention dinner swap.  I love the elegant simplicity of it. She used the stamp set Pendant Park.  The tree was stamped and then punched with the 1 3/4" punch to create the circle behind the H.  The Elegant Eggplant label uses the awesome Modern Label punch. Awesome card yet way easy!

For All You Do!

 Aren't these beautiful?  Kaylene M.,one of my downline, did these cards for our last swap.  Ok, the other night at club, one of my the ladies pointed out that I have been having a little trouble with my right and left in my blogs!  Lets see if I can do this right.

The card on the left uses the In-COlors, Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry and Soft Suede.  The polka dot Dusty Durango ribbon with the eyelet border punch look great together.  The card on the right is in Bermuda Bay. I loved how she used the large grommets to highlight the little flower.  The use of the Kissing technique added some texture to the flowers!

Sneak Peak Cont'd

Here are some more samples from the Demonstrator Get Together in Northern California.  THe card on the right uses the new stamp set Autumn Days and a new In-COlor Soft Suede.  The card on the right didn't use anything new but was a hit!

This fun fold has been a big hit for me.  It didn't use anything new but the Designer Series Paper Tea Party gave it a cheery look.  THe hit was the idea of putting the brads through the buttons! 

Creative Consultant - The Bridal Shower

 

My friend, Sue, recently hosted a Bridal shower and as her families Creative Consultant I helped her create some great decorations and favors.  THe picture above shows the little candy favors we made using the Matchbox Die for the big shot.  We made the covers out of the lighter weight window sheets.  THe brides colors were green, brown and cream - Chocolate chip, Certainly Celery and very vanilla.  We used the Certainly Celery Designers SEries Patterned Paper. 

 

 For the vase I used the Top Note in the colors and the front panel I used the Manhattan Embossing Folder.  The strip around the vase was using textured cardstock and I punched a border using the eyelet border.  Sue found marbles in the perfect colors.  She got the flowers at Costco so these were really inexpensive decorations.

Sneak Peak

 

Isn't this too tempting?  Well, I just returned from a visit to Northern California.  It was my niece, Greta's middle school graduation so I scheduled a meeting with my demonstrators up there!  It was great fun.  And I was able to plan the make & takes will ALL new stuff!  SO for the next couple of days you will get some sneak peaks!

 

These are some of the colors, Rich Razzlebery, Crushed Curry & Bermuda Bay.  The paper is Razzleberry Lemonade - it is yummy!  The polka-dotted ribbon comes in all the new In-Colors!

 

Here are a couple more samples we made.  The one on the left is made with the new Movers & Shapers Add on.  THe little opening comes in a set of 4 that goes with the Movers & SHapers in the current catalog that comes with the curly label opening.  It is pretty slick.
