Stampin' Up! Valentines Display

Isn't this cute?  Yesterday, when I finished getting my projects ready for my Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Get Together,  I decided to get a little display of Valentine stuff together for my entry.  If you read my blog you will know I have done a Halloween, Thanksgiving,  and Christmas.  My goal is to do each Holiday or season during the year.  I got this idea from Stampin' Up!'s founder Shelli Gardner.  I am enjoying it but with THE WEDDING in 32 days, I was going to pass up Valentines!  But I got ahead of schedule and so there you go.  I guess I am finally feeling better and getting back to my normal self!

This cute frame uses our Decor Element frame and the Love Impressions, Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Mini.  The pink pirouette and whisper white sheet is actually embossed.  The little hearts and words are slightly raised.   The LOVE block letters are also embossed.  I cut them out of the other sheet of embossed paper in the Love Impressions paper.

I used the Valentine Definition stamp from the Valentine Defined Stamp Set also in the Occasions Mini. I used the Big Shot Heart embosslit to cut glimmer paper (yeah, also in the Occasions Mini!)

 

The little crown I tied to the ribbon is one of the little trinkets available in the Occasions Mini.

The XOXO on the frame below the L is from the Love Impressions rub-ons.  I punched the little glimmer hearts out using the heart in the Owl Punch.  I am not real wild about the Owl but love the little heart!  So here is what my entry looks like right now.

I think I need to get rid of that picture and put something cute that I can use as part of the changing display.  Any ideas? I am sure my husband will love reading this.  Yes, he reads my blog and then comes home and thinks he is all in the know!

Halloween Decor Class

I have a group of classes planned to make a really cool Halloween Montage. This is the first part.  The frame is so cool.  The Luminaries are especially cool with the little electric tea lights inside.

This class will complete this cool Halloween Decorator Item to put out for Halloween.  .  You will leave this class with a finished frame. You will also have plenty of supplies to make cards and other Halloween items or opt to make the Halloween Luminaries with some your remaining supplies from the list of above. You will even have a couple of the items from the Décor Elements Spooky Things that you could put around your house!

These are items from our Holiday Mini.  So be sure to check them out.

This class is part of a day of classes that you can sign up for each individual or spend the day and do all of them.  Check back this weekend for the other parts.  I need to finish the one project before putting the picture up. 

The Simply Adorned Class is part of this all day Craft Extravaganza.

Friday September 17 will start at 1:30 - 3:30 for the Frame and Luminaries followed by the next Halloween class (check back for that one!)  followed by the Simply Adorned.  or you can do Saturday September 18 starting with the Simply Adorned at 10-12 followed by the Frame and Luminaries, and the next one!  RSVP by Friday September 10 for which classes you would like to attend.  If you can't make these dates schedule a private event with some of your friends.

Aren't these beautiful?  These are the cards we will be making in the Stamp a Stack Thank You's on September 9 in the morning or the evening.  Each guest will make 4 each of these 4 cards and get to go home with 16 thank yous and envelopes all ready to send.  I don't know about you but if I have a card on hand I tend to send them more often.

Halloween? Already!

I realize it is only August but it is never too early to start planning for Halloween.  Elizabeth P.  made these great cards for our swap.  I love her style.  She always surprises me.  THe black one on the right uses the Spooky Treats Rub-ons on the window sheets.  She then punched it out.  The card on the right uses the BIg Shot Square Scallop die.  Enjoy!

More Simple Friends

Here are more cards from Julie, I love how she used the large Pretties, page 175, behind the friend image.

 

These colors are so springy!  The Big Shot Embosslit die Simple flower, page 202, is so elegant and soft looking.  These embosslits are so cool, they emboss and cut out in one simple step!  The leaves behind are made with the 5 flower punch, page 185.  The Designer Series Paper is Washington Apple, page 161.  The Bashful Blue taffeta ribbon adds just the right flair, page 179.

Happy Birthday to me!

 

My adorable daughter sent me this card for my birthday a couple of weeks ago.  Isn't it lovely?  I thought it was very clever to use the MOM from Greatest Moments rubons,page 173.  Pink is our color so it is definitely our colors.  It also reminded me to check her craft box the next time I am up their because she has some discontinued product!  I was very impressed with her design and she was very proud of herself.  She says she makes cards for her friends and even has a few friends that come borrow her stuff to make cards. 

Fudge Time!

   

Each year I make a special fudge that is really creamy and rich.  I only make it during the Holidays and we give it to friends, neighbors - whoever!  This past week I started out with 6 batches.  Besides the fudge friends have started to look forward to the packaging!  The pressure is always on!  I found these cute little loaf pans at a craft store for $1!  So, I bought a bunch.  I added rub-ons.

Put the fudge inside and slipped the little loaf into a large Cello bag from the catalog.  Folded over the end and put a punch on the end.  It still looked a little boring so I added the snowflakes from the Holiday Mini.  My golf group loved them! and the fudge too!

My kids also like to have some sent to them.  THey can't wait till they get home.  These were the care packages that went out to them.

Aren't these little guys cute?  I  made these little holiday gifties with the Season of Cheer Rub-Ons from the Holiday Mini.  The little box with the kisses inside is made from the cardstock vellum.  The tag and the pillow box are made using the Big Shot also in the Holiday Mini.  I used the dies and cut the acrylic sold as paper dividers on page 195 of the idea book and catalog.  I thought they turned out great and the Rub-Ons go on real easy!

One tip, when using rub-ons to keep from messing up, staple the sheets together and then as you are cutting out and get loose pieces staple to liner that way you won't inadvertently use them!
 

This keeps them attached the backing until you need them.

Elizabeth had complained about losing her "stamping mojo" well, I can say we got her mojo back!  The three of us together came up with some FABULOUS projects using this UNBELIEVABLE kit.  WE could not believe everything you could do with what was included.  Here is a little hint

Stampin' Up! Casual Monthly Club Projects

Here are two of this months projects! (I have also entered these in Shelli's SoShelli.com Creative Challenge.  Shelli is the President and Co-Founder of Stampin Up!)  Aren't they awesome? I went a little crazy with the chunky glitter.  The idea for the web I got from the web somewhere.  The cauldron made with the punches I got from Nancy F. The bats in the sky are from the Chills & Thrills Rub-ons. But wait we made 2 more projects!

    

This little candy box is adorable.  I have made these boxes before but never thought to run the ribbon through.  Got this idea from the web!  The set is the Eat, Drink and be Scary from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  Instead of using Halloween Designer Series Paper I used the Tangerine Tango paper that way I didn't have to get something I wasn't sure I would use all of.  I know I will use the Tangerine Tango Designer Series. Club attendees talked about how they would use this idea for the Holidays or their bunco group!

Acrylic Album - with Pictures

 

I am visiting my daughter Liz, at her school this weekend.  I gave her the acrylic album I made last night at dinner.  She was really excited.  Liz and I have traveled and done little adventures together and my intent was to scrapbook these various adventures.  Well, I finally came to the realization that I simply would never get these done. But I did want something for us to remember these adventures.  In the next few years as she graduates and starts a new job these times will not be easy to come by and I wanted her to have something that will remind her how much fun we have and make her want to make the time.  ( I always pay so it isn't like she would have to pay!)

So, as I was working on this album for class the rub-ons and layout really worked for the key pictures from these trips.  I did them all in black and white because they are taken over many years and places and so the colors would vary widely.

One of the reasons I love these acrylics is how you can see through from one layer to the next.  It is kind of hard to see the picture behind the adventure moments rub-on is of Liz taking pictures at Buckingham Palace.  She loves to photograph and really takes some good pictures.

 

This picture is the other side and the little pull out is the reserve of her picture behind the rub-ons.

 

The other thing that I have finally started doing is doing rub-ons that move from the picture to the page.  It is amazing the difference in the look and how it ties all together.  I especially like doing this because journaling is not one of my favorite things to do and so by doing this I can add my commentary.

A Perfect Day Rub-ons - on Buttons!

I am busy getting ready for my local downline meeting on Friday.  This is always a fun time where local demonstrators in my downline come to my house and we stamp and talk Stampin' Up!  We have lots of make and take with new product so look for some fun new stuff after friday.  I always wait to put anything up until after the meeting that way those that come get a first look. Our meeting on friday is going to be talking about the Big Shot - watch for more information on that on Monday - when customers can order.

Now, on to this cute card.  You might recognize the Perfect Day Rub-ons from the Occasions Mini-Catalog this past spring as well as the Summer Picnic paper.  But I added some new stamp sets - Inspired by nature and Eastern Blooms.  I have to admit I am not a big rub-on person and I have to remind myself to use them.  When I was working on this card it needed something up the right side and nothing was working and I had the rub-ons out for the flower and I tried that and it looked so cute.  Then I remembered my demonstrator friend Liz had put rub-ons on some buttons in a project she gave me and so I added those and it just popped the project.  I have a hard time putting buttons on with the holes empty so this solved that problem.  Stampin' Up!'s new Button Bouquet is a little easier to leave the buttons empty because they are so stinkin' cute.  Enjoy!

New Stampin' Up! Stuff and reruns from Minis!

This stamp set is one we recieved at the Stampin' Up! Convention to use in the make & takes. Flight of the Butterfly is a great Two-Step set.  It has different layers of butterflys and sayings that look like the trail of the butterfly.  Hard to describe you really just need to check it out in the catalog!  The Little library Clip and the row of rub-ons are a return from mini-catalogs this year.

Acrylic Album - Austria!

This past week my friend Kaylene was visiting in the area and I was able to spend a day with her.  The day before I decided I wanted to make an album for her of our trip last year in Austria.  Kaylene and I met and spent a week jaunting around Austria together and had a great time.  I quickly made her an album of some of the pictures.  I did it in the acrylic format that I love right now.  I did not do a lot of journaling because the stories behind some of these pictures are long and only mean something to us or if we are telling it.  When I gave it to her, her family was there and it was so fun to hear her tell all our silly stories as she showed them the pictures.  Enjoy the pictures of the album and think about signing up for my Acrylic Album class or ordering a kit.

I used our 8 1/2" x 11" Page dividers from page 193 of the catalog.  SInce Kaylene is a demonstrator I wanted to use some new product so I used the Bella Rose Paper and the scallop border punch. (TOTALLY AWESOME PUNCH!) 

One of the really fun parts of acrylic albums is the seeing through from page to page.  Using rub-ons makes this fun because it works on more than one page.

These two pictures are a good example you can see the rub-on in the corner on both sides and it is an accent on both pages.
