Pleasanton Scrapbook Expo - Framed Art

This framed specimen art style is all the rage in paper crafting.  This one I made in our Twitterpated Designer Series Paper Pallete using a variety of punches and the new framelits!

It is a 12 x 12 page that fits perfectly into a shadow box.  The glass on the box makes it hard to photograph.

Here it is in the frame at the show.  As you can see the glass gives off shadows.

Simply Stamp Time Valentines!

Last month at Simply Stamp Time we did Valentines cards!  Lots of hearts. 

This card was a copy of a card done my downline and golf buddy Olive.  She made a card exactly like this with a different greeting for our INKERBELLES! Dinner Swap at Leadership.  I changed the greeting since the one she used was from the Holiday Mini.  My Simply Stamp Time Ladies have greeting issues, so I try to be very neutral and when possible put out choices.  Well, this card with the friend greeting started the funnies discussion!  A couple of the ladies were whispering and I asked what was up?  Well, they said this card was too "sexy" for a friend sentiment!  TOO FUNNY!  So they changed their greeting to something else!  It is hard to see in the picture but the black is actually the flocked velvety paper from Mocha Morning.  We have used many of these papers throughout the last few months! It is just lovely!

This card I copied from sample I saw at Leadership in San Antonio. I loved the clean simple lines of it!  The asymmetrical (I know big words!) use of the edgelit was amazing!  You actually cut both pieces together and then shift the top layer.  The three hearts is the heart punch punched in the white layer and then laid on the real red.  At the top you can see the embossed hearts from the new Textured Impressions Embossing Folders too yummy!

Valentines Box

Isn't this just lovely?  My friend Cherie M. made these for her downline at the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference. These are the little kraft boxes that are in the Occasions Mini.  They are great for little goodies as gifts.  But when you dress them up like this they make just a great gift!  I love all the little detail!  and it is hard to tell but she covered it with the blushing bride smooch spritz (occasions mini)

I love all the details and pieces!  Great job, Cherie!  I may have to copy these for my Valentines Goodie boxes!

Trees!

I know I promised to put up my finished project on Thursday or Friday, but I never got to finishing it.  These are the three trees I made a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to make a few more before sharing with you but I figure I had better share these since I am not sure if I am getting the others finished!  Aren't they fun?  I was inspired by a sample in our Stampin' Success magazine that is for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators .  I bought some foam cones and just started creating.  I had to add in some First Edition Designer Series Paper.

For this tree I took a full sheet of First edition and scored at 1/4" on my simply scored.  Then I cut strips of 1 1/2" and 2".  I think I actually used almost 2 full sheets.  I folded the strips and started glueing with hot glue from the bottom up just scrunching them onto the foam tree.  Don't go straight around except for the bottom one.  After I had all the tree covered I took a 2-way glue and put glue on the edges and rolled it in mica flakes.  I just a section at a time.  Then I added a few pearls and rhinestones here and there.

 

 

 

 

 

This Tree I just punched 1 3/8" circles of whisper white, shimmer white and First Edition.  I found they glued on easier by rolling them a little first.  You need to start at the bottom and really overlap to make them stick.  After I had the tree covered I did the 2 way glue and mica treatment but randomly all over.  Then I punched some little glimmer paper flowers with the bitty bunch pack, and stuck them around with some pearls in the middle on some of them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is the tree that started it all.  It is very similar to the one in Stampin' Success but I added the First Edition.  I had a hard time figuring out how to do it but what finally worked was to make all the layered flowers first.  I used whisper white, shimmer white, silver glimmer and First edition paper( sprayed with some frost white shimmer spray).  I used fun flowers, floral fusion, island floral and blossom party dies.  Then I also punched with the triple doily punch. and various small circle punches.  I textured a number of the bigger flowers with the polka dot and snow burst embossing folders.  I then just started layering the flowers trying to make sure there was some balance of textures, flowers and silver.  You need some big flowers and then some smaller ones toward the top.  Keep in mind there is a fine line when there becomes too much silver glimmer.  I forgot to take a picture of all the flowers.  I then started hot glueing the flowers on the foam tree working again from bottom top.  As I started creating I would then put left over pieces between and underneath.  When I had covered the tree from bottom to top I wend back and stuck pieces into pieces and filled in.  Then I added some pearls and jewels.  I didn't mica flake this one but I am still thinking it might need some shimmer spray.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Well, I hope you enjoye these beautiful trees!  I have a couple of ideas for a few more but I have Simply Stamp Time this week and need to finish getting ready.

White Chrismas close up!

This is one of the cards from the Sparkly White Christmas Card Class.  To make the wreath you want to punch the circle in the middle of the wreath first with the 1 3/8"
circle punch. Then center and punch with the large scallop circle.  Run it through the big shot in an embossing folder.  I used Petals-a-Plenty.

To make the silver ring inside the wreath.  Take the layer of silver glimmer paper that is under the shimmer white and punch a 1 1/4" circle then center the 1 3/8" circle punch around it.  This saves you paper as well.

I painted the smooch pearlized accent ink top coat onto the centers of the flowers .

To stamp the greeting use the shimmer paint and a sponge and lightly sponge onto image and stamp.  It takes a little to dry. 

I just love these cards.  I am going to finish another project I have been working on today and will hopefull share them with you tomorrow or Friday. 

 

Always Thankful!

Some more pretty cards from Elisa and our Holiday Mini Swap.  The coolest part of the Spice Cake Designer Series Paper is the In-Color Pool Party.  I never would have added that to a fall card but everytime I pull out this paper I LOVE the pool party.  I love the little focal poinst Elisa created in the corner with the triple punch, decorative label punch, circle punch and pearl. Lovely little accent.  Compliments the little punched scallop and pearls.

This is such a great watercolor set - too bad I can't watercolor very good!  I love how she stamped the wheelbarrow on the center of the doily punched from the Big Shot Pennant Die.  Great cars.  I love getting the swap cards in the mail.  Can't wait to do the Occasions Mini!

Simply Stamp Time - Project Close Ups

This was a fun fold we made at Simply Stamp Time in October.  I believe it is called a Twisted easel.  It is actually really easy - just a little challenging in the visualizing!  The paper we used is the Flirtatious Designer Series Specialty Paper. The melon mambo doily you see sticking out is snipped from a sheet of doiles that come laser cut!  To make this card you score the front of the card on a diagonal and attach the focal point just to the bottom part of the fold. 

Then you have to have something to hold the fold up.  We just made sure that the greeting was popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Book a Workshop - My place or yours!

Does the idea of cleaning your house and prepping to have a workshop in your home keep you from doing it?  Well, than schedule your workshop for my house.  I have a great room with huge table to spread out on and everyone has a great time making 2-3 projects.  Here is a project from a recent workshop at my house.

The Mocha Morning Designer Series Paper is what makes this card.  Both of these sheets are flocked so the black is fuzzy and textured.  When you add all the little layers for the focal point it is just yummy!  The designer series frame is really becoming one of my favories  I love the dots all around!  The little scalloops you see peeking out is the edge of the scalloped ribbon!  The little touch of peach parfait with the First Edition Designer Series Paper  just gave it a pop!

When you book a workshop with me I do 2-3 projects, you can request certain cards and while I don't promise, I will do my best.  You can do it at my house or yours.  I have baskets of samples and a ton of stuff in my studio that makes most people want to take advantage of that!  Remember now until December 15 you get Extra Hostess Dollars!

No Layer Cards

This is a simple, easy, quick card.  I used our notecards and envelopes to make these.  Each month I recognize Stampin' Up! Demonstrators in my downline who are in the top 20 or who recruit 2 or more new Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.  I send out between 25 and 30 of these cards each month.  I usually stamp 2 different designs since demonstators that are in the top 20 usually are recruiting as well.  This card utilizes my favorite stamp set from the new 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog Kindness Matters.  I added Frame it for the Pool Party frame.  The colors I used include the 2011-2013 In Colors - Island Indigo and Pool Party.

Here are a couple of other ones I made.  I usually make a few extra so I always have a quick card on hand to send when I need it.

The notecards & envelopes are a great buy and a great way to make a stack of quick cards.  Add a little jewel or pearl or shimmer spray and it is a great card.

The demonstrators in my downline comment that they use these ideas for their workshop make & takes!  I give you a challenge to buy a package of these cards and see what you can come up with that has no layers!

If you love to stamp, but don’t have a lot of free time, like me, Simply Sent is PERFECT for you! I made two cards in about 30 minutes, and they are cute. I love to make my own cards to use creativity and my personal touch, but some days you need a card by tomorrow.

One thing I love about Simply Sent is that any one of any age can make these cards. I have been using these for a long time. These new sets are one of the cutest ones because they use the new colors and the gorgeous satin ribbon we have. I love ribbon and having them pre cut is great! The tags on the cards are already pre punched so all you do is feed it through the tag, or wrap it around the card then tie the ribbon. How much easier then that can you get? I don’t think very.

Here is an up close picture of one of the tags, with a little pearls on them to add an extra girly touch.

What is even better about Simply Sent is that in October if you buy two simply sent kits you get the coordinating stamp set for free! Wow!

Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - INKERBELLES!

My group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators is called INKERBELLES!  It is a group of over 2000 demonstrators all over the country!  I have over 60 that are direct to me either because I recruited them or because the people who were between me and them have dropped.  I love communicating and helping them have fun build businesses at the level they would like.  One of the things I do is a monthly incentive for these directs.

Each month when they meet certain goals, or for their first year as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator they recieve a project from along with some product.  I hope this helps them have things to demonstrate for their customers and helps them try new things that maybe they couldn't afford to try or weren't sure was their style.  This months card is an My Digital Studio Hybrid Card.  This means that I printed the card through My Digital Studio and then added to it to give it a little dimension.  The reason I did this is I wanted to give everyone the Pick your Poison Quick Accents and Designer Series Paper and I couldn't figure out how to make enough different cards with the Pick Your Poison.  I realized then I should print a card with those items and then add some strips from the Quick Accents since there were plenty of these.

This is what you get in the Quick Accents.  Each of these sheets are 12 x 12.  You can see how hard it would be to make 30 similar cards using this but how easy it was to use the paper ribbons.  Each of the cards I made had a different paper strip down the side.

I added a rhinestone at the bottom that I colored black with a permanent marker.  I also spritzed with Platinum Shimmer paint that I mixed in a hand sanitizer.  I thought the card turned out cute.  Here is the original My Digital Studio card before I hybrided it!

As you can see cute as is but way cuter with the additions.

The reason I do this incentive is most of those directs live all over the country and cannot benefit from meetings as other groups do.  I do do 3 meetings a year at my house for those Stampin' Up! Halloween Week

I have some really cute Halloween Stuff so I am going to a whole week of Halloween.  I hope you like them.  To start off I want to show our booth from Santa Clara Scrapbook Expo.  We had a whole section devoted to Halloween.

This card wreath was filled with cute cards and little suckers.  Elizabeth P had picked those up somewhere and they were perfect.  Our main product used was the Pick your Poison suite of products from the Holiday Mini.

This spooky banner is made with the Quick Accents from this suite.  They are self adhesive and have some great detail.  I used some chipboard letters that i painted basic black with craft ink and sprayed with platinum shimmer.  I layered them onto the largest pennant of the pennant die that I had cut from the Pick your Poison Designer Series Paper.  A few jewles and little punches and some punches in the silver glimmer paper and in less than 20 minutes start to finish I had a cute Halloween Banner.  The rest of the Quick Accents can be used to make the little bottles of poison and scary stuff.

 

Make sure you start planning now!  That banner would have been in one of my kids Halloween care packages at college!

Simply Stamp Time!

I do believe this was the favorite project this past week at Simply Stamp Time!  It is really simple - just lots of little pieces!  I used the Pennant Die for the Big Shot and had the pennants all cut for everyone.  The ran the large pennants through the Big Shot in the spider web embossing folder.  All three pennants went through at the same time!  Sanded them a little to make the webbing stand out and sprayed with a little smootch spray.  I had also cut the BOO letters in the glimmer paper ahead of time.  Then they just punched and glued and ssembled.  Here are some close-ups.

This is a really simple quick project and fun to hang up any where!    The Designer Series Paper I used is Frightful Sight from the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.To get the black jewels, just use a black permanent marker and color the rhinestones before you put them on your project!

Swaps

As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I look forward all year to 2 big Stampin' Up! Events - Leadership and Convention.  In October we will be registering for Leadership - it is in San Antonio and I can't wait.  I am planning on going early and playing some golf with one of my golf and stampin' buddies!  At each of these events I host a dinner for my  direct demonstrators and those in my downline who are direct to me.  We also have a swap at these events.  Here are a couple of the cards from the Stampin' Up! Convention this past July.

This card was made by Elizabeth Price.  I love all the detail she puts into a card and cards from her always inspire me!  The stamp set for this card is pretty much my favorite from the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.  And it is a real deal $8.95 in clear mount.  She also uses the Four Frames stamp set that was available during the pre sale last spring and now is available to everyone!  The way she layers the top note die, embossed frame and decorative label is just too cute.  The colors are unusual too -  the 2011-2013 In color Pool Party with soft suede and 2010-2012 In Color Peach Parfait just makes this gorgeous.  Not too mention the lace ribbon border punch.

Build a Blossom & First Edition

I spent the Fourth of July in San Diego with my son and his wife, Emily.  Emily has been trying her hand at some stamping and was really enjoying it so while I was there we went through the new 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog and talked about the different things.  I got a feel for her style and we put in an order for some fun stuff for her.  She just now sent me a picture of a card she made for her mother!  I love it.

Didnt she do a great job?  I love how she stamped the Build A Blossom petals on the First Edition Designer Series Paper.  The layered Designer label punch is awesome with just the little bit of color.  The pearl on the "i" is totally cool.  I do believe Emily is going to make a great stamper!

I am just so impressed!

Its Liz again and its card making time!

It is time for the Stampin’ Up Convention again. Sadly, I can’t attend due to work but I wish I could. I have been to a few Conventions, but the past few I have really come to appreciate what you get out of them. My first one I attended, awhile ago, I went for the “show”, Thuryl Bailey, and to make the cards! Last year, I really went to see the new ideas, learn about the changes and special incentives as well as see my mom walk across for making 20,000 in sales!! This year I could have walked across for my 5 year pin, dang!

Well in light of Convention, I wanted to make a card with a stamp set and paper that is from the new Catalog, and not only from the new catalog, but from the Sneak Peak stuff that if you are a demonstrator you can buy before everyone else! Another reason to be a Stampin Up Demonstrator! *Wink Wink* I used the Flirtatious Designer Series Paper and Delicate Doilies stamp set, as well as the In Color Lucky Limeade. I love this stamp set, because it is very girly, but sophisticated at the same time. I started off with a white background for the card, but was not thrilled with it. I really like the Lucky Limeade, so decided to use that for the main paper in the card. Ribbon is one of my favorite things. In high school I wore ribbon in my hair for volleyball, and in school most of the days. I also love the Lace Ribbon punch, so I combined the two. I made a runner with the punch and laced the ribbon through the punch as shown.

 

After stamping the background with Lucky Limeade ink onto Lucky Limeade paper, I needed a saying. I had my boyfriend pick one so he could feel a part of my card! I used the Decorative Label punch to add a little pizzazz to the saying. I used it twice, ones on the whisper white and then again on the Melon Mambo paper that is part of the Doilies paper set. I made it into a label and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it on the page.

This was the point of the card where I was stumped. I thought it was a good card, but needed a little something more. I called my mom and asked her. She advised me to add some pearls to make it get to the next level. So I added some pearls and here is my finished product: Hope you like it! You can order anything on this card from the new catalog! Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Get Together

Yes, I have finally set the date!  August 20th is the next INKERBELLES! Group Get Together.  This is for all my downline who are able to come to my home in Walnut Creek, CA!  We have a great day doing make & takes, sharing ideas, a short business meeting where we recognize achievements.  At this meeting I have asked those that attended the Stampin' Up! Convention to share their favorite thing!  I can't wait to see what these are.

These are a couple of the cards we made at the last INKERBELLES! Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Get Together.  I usually focus on the Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogs so for  August we will be using mostly the Holiday Mini!  These cards use the Flower Fest Stamp Set!  So quick and easy.  The card on the left is a simple no layer card made on our notecards that come with envelopes!  Cute and simple.  The one on the right is made by using the coordinating Fancy Flower punch.  Happy cards.  I love the sentiment!  It is from the set Happy Greetings which is in the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini and did not make it into the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog. Pennant Parade

One of the unique offerings Stampin' Up! makes is it coordination of product.  Groups  of product that work together seamlessly are designed to help us make great looking products.  In the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog a new stamp set Pennant Parade is designed to go with Petite Pennants Builder Punch.  On page 69 of the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog this stamp set is shown.  You can see around the pennants a light gray line.  This indicates a punch matches these shapes.  Below the images is a note which punch and on which page it is.  All through the catalog you will see this type of notation.  Makes it so easy to coordinate! LOVE IT!

This card is the one I made for my May Direct Demonstrators Incentive.  Each month demonstrators that are direct to me who meet certain benchmarks recieve a project and some free product!  Want to get a great gift each month from? - become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for $99 with me!  This project used the new Pennant Parade Stamp Set and Pettite Pennants Builder Punch.  May's incentive is always hard.  The incentives go out mid month of the following month - so June in this case.  This means that the retiring list is out and I can't order new product for them yet I want to make them a sample/project they can use for awhile.  This card worked well.  I used the stamp set and punch from my pre -0rder (another Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Perk) but was able to incorporate product on carryover - In color Desginer Series Paper Stacks, Glimmer Brads, etc.  For this month there gift was the stack of Designer Series Paper!  THis card was simple and fun.  I love the monochromatic them of it.

I am finding one of my new favorites is the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.  This set of three little punches is a great way to add just a little fluff to cards.

Hope everyone had a fun holiday weekend.  I spent the weekend with my son and his wife - golfing, shopping, eating, playing games and just hanging out!  Sorry for the lack of posts but sometimes you just need a break.  I am waiting anxiously for my order of new 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Goodbye Simply Said

I copied this card from my friend Elizabeth P.'s card.  I loved that card and wanted to do it but needed to transfer it to a retiring set for my Simply Stamp Time retirement party.  I decided to use Simply Said.

I think this is a cool CASE.  The little trick I liked was punching the wide oval off the edge so that the layered images stick off the edge.  You can do this with a 3 x 6 card since the envelopes for these have some extra room.  The color combo of basic grey and daffodil delight is awesome.  I use the Designers Series Paper Stack of brights.

My Friend - New Stampin' Up! Stamp Set

Here is another card made with My Friend Stamp Set, available in the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.  I use the color combinations in the Designers Series Papers as the start of my color combinations.  This really stretches what I would normally do.  Tbe Pocketful of Posies Designer Series Paper uses Baja Breexe, Pear PIzazz, Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, Early Espress, Soft Suede, Poppy Parade, SO Saffron, Whisper White.  When I start to use Designer Series Paper I start with identifying the light neutral for stamping, in this case whisper white and then the dark color for words our outlinees -early espresso in this color combo.  Then I pick the piece of paper I want to work with and use those colors.  I love how this card came out.  I am not a Daffodil Delight person, in fact I believe there is nothing in my closet or house in any shade of yellow.  BUT yesterday I found myself pulling out Daffodil Delight and using it over and over again.  It is very bright and happy.  My favorite thing to do right now is creating a focal point by layring up punches.

Add a few glimmer brads and some bling and a piece of seam binding and you got a cool card.  And yes the glimmer brads are in the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog and in fact you can buy them right now.  Search glimmer brad in the online store.

Simply Stamp Time!

It is that time again!  Simply Stamp Time is this next Monday and Tuesday, June 6, 6:30 PM and June 7 10:00 AM.

This is one of  the cards we made in May.  It uses the new stamp set Fabulous Florets from the Summer Mini.  The Designer Series Paper Beyond the garden coordinates with it so well.  I love the colors of Tangerine Tango and Wild Wasabi.  The embossintg folder Flower Garden (Summer Mini) adds a great texture. 

This is a card that Elizabeth Price made for our Summer Mini swap.

I just love the circle and scallop detail.  I am thinking we might do a card something like this at Simply Stamp Time in June!

Graduation Card

My Friends daughter recently graduated from Law School!  Yeah, Leslie!  I wanted to send her a card recognizing this great accomplishment!  I didn't have a graduation set that I felt was appropriate for this occasion but this word set Word Play from the Stampin' Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog was perfect and it is on sale this month with the National Scrapbooking Month Promotion.

The little key is still available on the carryover list and I thought was just a great addition to the card!  Of course if you have been following my card what card is not complete without First Edition Designer Seriees Paper!

Simply Stamp Time

Simply Stamp Time is Monday, June 6 at 6:30 PM and Tuesday, June 7 at 10:00 AM.  This is one of our projects from last month.

This is a fun easy cut to do.  We used the Strength & Hope stamp set from the Summer Mini, all in shades of pink - pretty in pink and melon mambo.  The H is stamped on the punched shape of the petal card.  The printed Pretty In Pink paper is from the Designers Series Paper Pack in Subtles.  A real fun and pretty card. Here are a couple of close-ups.

Another one of the cards we made in June, was made by Julie B. for our Summer Mini swap.

Isn't this just lovely?  The printed pattern paper is from the Designer Series Paper Pack but in the Regals color group.  The stamp set is Pretty Postage (summer mini) with the new Postage Punch.

Friday I am having a class to make 12 birthday cards - 4 each of 3 designs!  You will have a stack of cards when you leave!

While this card is not a Birthday Card it could be with a different saying!  This card uses the currenT special Spring is Blossoming.  So we may not make this exact card but we will make something using the Four Frames stamp Set that coordinatees with the Decorative Label Punch and the Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper.

Simply Stamp Time - Next Week
