This is the card that I made for the INKERBELLES! Directs Dinner Swap at the Stampin' Up! Convention this past July!  At the 2 major events that Stampin' Up! holds for Demonstrators I host a dinner for my directs who attend.  It is a lot of fun seeing everyone together.  My directs are in about 10 different states so some of these ladies only see each other at these events.    This card was inspired by the card on page 183 of the Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog 2011-2012.  I loved the idea of hanging a trinket inside the sweet treat cups!  I combined it with the Mocha Morning Designer Series Paper.  One of the rules of the swap is that we have to use something new from the catalog.  Notice the little mini silver brads.  They are really tiny but add a great bang.  Here are some close ups.

 

To get the trinket inside the sweet treat cup you use a cropadile to punch a hole in the edge of the cup and thread the ribbon down through the hole, through the trinket and back out the hole and tie a knot.  Way easy for a cool look.  And don't forget you need a padded envelope to mail this card!

Simply Stamp Time!

It is that time again!  Simply Stamp Time is this next Monday and Tuesday, June 6, 6:30 PM and June 7 10:00 AM.

This is one of  the cards we made in May.  It uses the new stamp set Fabulous Florets from the Summer Mini.  The Designer Series Paper Beyond the garden coordinates with it so well.  I love the colors of Tangerine Tango and Wild Wasabi.  The embossintg folder Flower Garden (Summer Mini) adds a great texture. 

This is a card that Elizabeth Price made for our Summer Mini swap.

I just love the circle and scallop detail.  I am thinking we might do a card something like this at Simply Stamp Time in June!

Simply Stamp Time

One more month done!  It was so much fun!  Next month is Monday, June 6 at 6:30 PM and Tuesday, June 7 at 10:00 AM.  There is no evening session, as I am leaving for my nephew's middle school graduation.

This is the card that Liz P. made for our Summer Mini swap.  The stamp set is Proud Peacock.  I love how Liz combined it with the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper.  I love the little clipwith the hi and circles!  Great job Liz.

Ribbon and Vintage

This beautiful piece was on top of the packaging for a free stamp set!  Remember this really beautiful card?  Well at the breakfast we went to sitting at our place was a package with this attached to the top.  The detail is fabulous.  It almost makes me want to get out my sewing maching.(almost!)  The idea of putting the pearl on top of the trinket brad is pretty cool!  I love all the layers and texture.

Halloween Rub-ons

Each month I send simple cards to demonstrators in my downline to compliment them on being in the Top 20 for personal sales in my downline and recruiting more than 2 new demonstrators.  This past month I made some using the Halloween Rub Ons from the Holiday Mini.  The spooky candelabra is from Dark & Dreary.  Great for a quick note.  The rub-ons have a metallic sheen to them.

Here is the other one I made.  I added the little flourish behind the Happy Halloween from the Artistic Etchings set in the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.

Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Get together

You know you want to come!

Isn't this too cute?  This is made with the new candy wrapper Big Shot Die in the Holiday Mini.  It is a really intricate die and is a little tricky to fold.  In fact many of us at my last Demonstrator Get Together had fun trying to find the easiest way to teach this to our customers.  Many laughs but we finally figured it out.  It really is easy and super cute.  By putting the large scallop on the front it tilts it up. I thought this would make a great place card/table favor.  OH! I have been trying to think of something for Thanksgiving - it is at my house and quite an event usually.  Will keep you posted on that one.

It is hard to tell but this is a little pocket that you could put a cookie in.  The paper is the Autumn Spice from the Holiday Mini and is heavily textured.  I am thinking that I just figured out my table favors/place cards for Thanksgiving.  Check back around Thanksgiving to see.

 

Featured Artist - Just Believe

Nancy F., one of my downline, sent this collection of cards in that she did at a recent class using the new Just Believe stamp set.  I loved  these cards!  Nancy gets $75 in free stamps as the Featured Artist.  Here are the rest.

Milk Carton with the Big Shot

I just love the simplicity of these little milk cartons made with the Big Shot Die.  The die cuts and scores them all in one step with no measuring.  How much easier can it get? Here is another cute card I made using the same Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper.  The flower is cut with the daisy Big Shot Die.

Elegant Soiree

This little box is made with the Party Favor Big Shot die.  I used the Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper, the Antique Brads and the crochet lace.  This was one of the items on display at out Scrapbook Expo Group.

 

This is a shower invitation I made using the Always stamp set from the 2010-2011 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.  The stamp set is designed to go with the Elegant Lines embossing folder and the Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper.    Add a little pearl and you have a lovely invite!

Very Vanilla - so yummy

Each month I put together a package of product and a project to send to my first level demonstrators, those I have recruited.  I do this since so many of demonstrators live in other states and can't come to my Demonstrator Get Together.  They have to meet certain requirements - sales & recruiting, to receive it.  They love these boxes.  This card was once I did in the last few months.  One of the things I am always trying to do is "hide my mechanics."  This is what one of my demonstrators always says when creating and I have a customer who will add a layer to a card to just hid some bracket backs.  This card hides the mechanics of the decorative hardware with an entire layer inserted in the ribbon inside the card.  This layer also adds some texture to the front of the card that is trimmed a little shorter with the scallop embroidered punch.  By using  a strip of the polka dot folder on the inside layer, a piece of  another folder inside, makes for some neat texture.  The stamp set is Tiny Tags.  By layering the  decorative hHardware over the scallop punch the focal point appears larger though it was made with a small set of stamps.

Scrapbook Expo Eye Candy

This arrangement was the center piece of our booth at the Santa Clara Scrapbook Expo.  Elizabeth P, Stampin' Up! Artisan Award Winner 2010, masterminded the whole thing.  THe rest of us, myself, Julie B. and Chari B. created the various boards and extras.  The middle of the booth used our new paper Elegant Soiree as the key component and then we went with the vintage shabby chic look.  It was definitely eye candy to behold.  When working with Elizabeth on this I find myself stretching my creativity and moving into new areas.  THis was fun to work on.  You will be seing lots of pictures of the projects that we did for display on the blog in coming weeks and as classes.  Here are some closeups of various elements.

Stampin' Up! Convention Samples

I have been going through the pictures we took at convention and realized quite a few of them are using product from the Holiday Mini.  These products are available for purchase on Sept 1 so I am going to wait to show you some of these until later in August.  But here are some great samples:

 

This the Sweet Shoppe they set up using  the new colors.  It was just way too much fun looking at all the different ways they made eye candy.  Be sure to check back I will show you the stuff using Holiday Mini Product later in August.

Summer Mini - a few more!

My set for the Summer Mini swap was Bouquet Bunch.  I think this little set is too cute and simple.  Lots of possibilities.  I liked this card so much that we made it at Stamp Time as well.  Notice the embossed border on the edge of the card. My friend and demonstrator Dena R. shared this idea on her blog. You basically cut up your embossing folders and use pieces of them  Be sure to check them out.

This is one of my favorite new color combos - soft suede and bashful blue.  I made the little whisper white layer with the square lattice  folder.  To create the border around the opening you punch the front layer with overlapping 1 3/8" punches and the inside with the 1 1/4" punches and place it inside.

Summer Mini Samples

I am sorry I haven't posted for awhile.  Life has been a little crazy getting ready for my daughter Liz's graduation this coming weekend.  I have a number of posts for you this week with samples from the Summer Mini Catalog.

Today's samples are by Chari B.   The little flower is from the stamp set Itty Bitty Bits.  These images are sized to fit with the punch pack - Itty Bitty Shapes.  Notice how she used in the center of the flower.  The flower is made by using the new Tropical Island Bigz Die for the Big shot combined with the Extra Large Fancy Flower punch that was in the Occasions Mini and is still available.  Here is a list of items that are available but not in any of our current publications - Carryover Items.  The Designer Series Paper is Island Oasis.  The word set is In a word.  All these items are in the Summer Mini.  If you are on my mailing list you should have received your copy by now.  If you haven't contact me at wadainker@aol.com and I will send you one.

I know your initial thought is all those flowers!  But with the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack it is really quick to make all those cool flowers.  The texture on the vase is made with the new Square Lattice Folder for the big shot.  Totally cute cards.

Great Large Grommet Idea

Isn't that little life preserver adorable?  How clever Mary C. was when she came up with this idea for our Occasions Mini swap using Fox & Friends. The colors are cute but the use of the large grommet was just tooo clever.

 

This was Mary's other card from the same set.  The texturing of the layer in the same color with the texturz plate was a great technique. This is such a great simple card.
 

Well Scripted

THis is one of the samples I made for a swap. I had the Well Scripted Set from the Occasions Mini.  It is a lovely sentiment set.  While I don't necessary use a few of them all the time I do love the ones I do enough to justify it! LOL!  The Butterflies are from the new embosslit Beautiful Wings for the BIg Shot.  THis little dies cuts and embosses all 5 Butterflies in one run through the BIg Shot.  Each of the Butterflies have a different Embossed design on it.  THe Whisper White layer with the small scallop border is one of the Hugs Notes from the Occasions Mini.  They come in a package of 20 for $4.95.  What a deal.  You have a ready made layer with a cool border.  THere is a smaller one called Kisses. 

I used it on this card.  Notice the cool real red corduroy button?  Isn't it cool?  THat is in the Occasions Mini as well as the heart punch that I used to border a couple of layers.  The heart border punch has a corner punch that you can go around corners and match up.  The dotted whisper white background layer is using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder for the BIg Shot.  Can you tell I just love all the new stuff in the Occasions Mini?  And there is more than I am showing you.  Contact me for your own hard copy or you can view it online Occasions Mini.

Club Project Close Up

This is one of the projects from club last month.  I got the idea from one of Nancy F.'s card she mailed. 

I really liked the look of the card but wanted to turn it the other way and use a greeting other than the Ovals All.  As I was working with it IR ealized that the Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware would look really cool so I added that.

No layer Cards!

 

Each month I stamp a stack of cards to use to send to my top demonstrators in my downline. I keep them simple because I usually stamp 30-40 of them. I like to have a few on hand to send when I need a card.  These cards were made with Leaf Lines.  I love the clean lines and simple sentiment of this set.  I punched the opening on the Melon Mambo card with the Designer Label punch.  The button just adds such an awesome detail.  The other card has a dimple brad from the Hodgepodge Hardware set.  It is great to always have cards on hand.  Give it a try or come to one of my Stamp A Stack classes and make stack of cards to have on hand.

Halloween

 

These great cards were made by Elizabeth P., one of my directs.  Elizabeth is very creative and always amazes me with her samples.  Wait till you see what she did for our INKERBELLES! Get Together this past Sunday.  Those items will be up later.

These cards are simple yet so pleasing to the eye!  They use black ink with just a few touches on the one on the left.  The small grommet around the eye socket on the card on the right I think is just too creative.

For All You Do!

 Aren't these beautiful?  Kaylene M.,one of my downline, did these cards for our last swap.  Ok, the other night at club, one of my the ladies pointed out that I have been having a little trouble with my right and left in my blogs!  Lets see if I can do this right.

The card on the left uses the In-COlors, Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry and Soft Suede.  The polka dot Dusty Durango ribbon with the eyelet border punch look great together.  The card on the right is in Bermuda Bay. I loved how she used the large grommets to highlight the little flower.  The use of the Kissing technique added some texture to the flowers!

Soft Suede

 

THese two cards were part of my card swap.  I used the new set Garden Greetings - an awesome Two-Step Set.  I LOVE Soft Suede, it is so rich.  Contrasted with Rose Red or BErmuda Bay it just looks awesome.  The Paper I used was the new designer Series Paper Thoroughly Modern.  THe background on the right is with the new Texturz Plate for the big shot.  The sentiments is from another new set - FYI, it has all kinds of little words to go with the FYI.

Buttons and Swap

 

THe card on the right was one of the first that contributed to the Button Challenge.  I have a swap to do with some demonstrators using the new set Garden Greetings.  I came up with this card but realized that I would need to do 6 of this card which created a button issue.  But I thought the card was so cute I went with it and 3 buttons were used. 

The card on the left is also cute.  It uses the new Designer Series Paper - Cottage Wall.  I love the look of RIch Razzleberry with Old Olive it is so deep.  THe two stop stamping is done with Orchid Opulence, stamped off once with Rich Razzleberry over stamped for the detail!

Extra Buttons

Sometimes when I am stamping, I look at what I might have a lot of.  You know, when you use only one color out of an assortment (maybe even more than one package!)  I have a lot of these so saffron buttons from the Button Latte assortment and decided I like the way they looked with the Cream Confetti Cardstock.

THis card combines two of the new In-Colors, Dusty Durango and Soft Suede with the Cream Confetti.  THe ribbon is the polka dot ribbon reversed.  I stamped the flower from Leaf lines, a new stamp set, on top of the Designer Series Paper in Dusty Durango.  THe little brads inside the buttons are from the vintage brad assortment.

As I was finishing this card I decided to issue myself a challenge.  Something I do periodically in my stamping!  I pulled out the new Playground BUtton BOuquet and decided to see if I could come up with a set of cards that used these buttons EVENLY!  Over the next few days you will see the results of my button challenge.

No Layers for May

 

These were the cards I sent to my top sales and recruiting demonstrators for May (yeah, I am a little behind!)  I had a bunch of chocolate chip buttons sitting around and decided they looked good with Dusty Durango.  The Soft Suede card I was having trouble figuring out how to secure the ribbon since it kept slipping down. By punching the hole in the side it added a detail and necessary mechanics.  THe only problem with both these cards is they do cost extra postage!  I finally broke down and just bought extra stamps and when I send thick cards I add it.  I can't resist putting embellishments on so I guess I just have to pay.

More Sneak Peak

  

I believe everyone at the get together liked th is one the most.  THey thought it was fun making all the circles.  The images come from the new stamp set Circle CIrcus.  THe color is Bermuda Bay.  THe big Shot Texture plates were used to make the vellum just a little white!  The big grommets are the ones from the Occasions Mini - but no need to panic on that one they are in the new catalog!

Brads & Buttons

 

Maybe Susi should come visit more often!  Here was another one of the ideas we came up with.  She was helping me come up with my project for my monthly Demonstrator Incentive.  The card in front was one she made from something she saw on the Internet.  I loved the simplicity of it and we started messing around and came up with the Baja Breeze corduroy buttons in the center of the Jumbo Grommets both from the Occasions Mini.  We wanted something in the middle of the button and the brads we tried wouldn't fit.  Susi wondered if the crop-a-dile would punch a hole in the center!  Voila!  It did.  We punched a hole in the center so that you can make a hole that will hold any of out brads.  We used the 5/16" Jumbo Brads, page 174.  We thought they made a nice accent.

Two Cards - Same Layout

 

My Sister Susi will laugh when she's this entry.  We did so much stuff when she was here for a couple of days - she can't believe how much "air time" she is getting!

We were working out a Big Shot class for her to do with her customers.  She had finally made the leap and so we were coming up with her class and training her at the same time.

The card in front was sent in by Chari using the Trendy Trees Stamp Set, page 91.  WE liked the card but wanted to use a stamp set Susi owned.  She we switched it to the Eight Great Greetings from the Occasions Mini.  We also switched the paper from the Sweet Slumber Specialty Paper, to the Parisian Breeze Specialty paper, page 158-9.  She had the Parisian Breeze but not Sweet Slumber.

So the next time you see a card that you like but don't have the exact stuff see what you can trade it out for and get the same effect.
