Pleated Skirt!

Lovin' my Simply Scored!  What did I do without it?  I love texture on my cards and any way I can create it quick and easy makes me happy!  I saw this idea on my friend Julie B. website.  So decided I needed to design a card with it for Simply Stamp Time.  I had also been loving the Hello, Doily big stamp from the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.  So, this is what we made at October Simply Stamp Time.

I am always excited when I design something on my own!  The Hello, Doily is stamped with the Very Vanilla Craft Pad.  It makes such a striking impression - it almost looks raised.  Then we scored a strip of Mocha Morning Designer Series Paper on the Simply Scored and created the little skirt!  LOVE IT!  When I was working on this card I made the card and had it sitting on my table while I was working on other things and I kept looking at it.  It just seemed like it was missing something.  I added the little scalloped ribbon border of First Edition peeking out from under the twill tape! VOILA!  It always amazes me how some little thing can make such a difference.  I will say the only way to make the pleats lay down was to put a strip of sticky tape down but loved it!

Simply Stamp Time!

 

This another one of the projects we made at Simply Stamp Time in September.  The stamp set for the leaf is Gently Falling from the Holiday Mini.  It is a great Two-Step set.  The outline of leaf was stamped first with Soft Suede ink and then the solid image was inked with the champagne shimmer spray and sponged on the image and stamped over the top of the outline!  Isn't it lovely?  The pear pizzaz card base is embossed with the Herringbone embossing folder.  The frame is a cool technique using the Simply Scored and Spice Cake Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Mini.  The words are another favorite from the Holiday Mini - Hand-Penned Holidays.  We embossed it with the pewter embossing powder (yep, holiday mini again!)  The edge of the banner was made with the Decorative Label punch.  Check out this post for the details -  Trick or Treat.

Simply Stamp Time

This was one of the projects from October Simply Stamp Time!  This card fits into a regular envelope and when you pull the card out of the envelope it pops open.

This little owl bookmark was another one of our projects.  By folding the paper and setting it a bit below the fold line of the bookmark die of the Two Tags Die Cut for the big shot you get a cute fold.  Little pieces of sheet magnet inside make it a great bookmark.

Fleurettes only white? UHUH!

Isn't this a cute card? I used the new Elegant Soiree  Designer Series Paper.  Nancy F one of my downline originally sent me a card with this design.  I wanted to put the fleurette as a focal point but they came in white so - I dyed them.

  

Okay, I actually found I needed a little more Baja Breeze reinker in the water to get the color I wanted but it is pretty quick and easy.  The little scalloped square is from the new Big Shot Clear lit!

Valentines (A little late!)

As my husband were leaving on our trip back in February to celebrate my 50th birthday, I realized I needed to send my children (and boyfriend and fiancee!) a valentines card.  I quickly made these little cards and got them in the mail.  These heart treat cups fit our heart punch perfectly and look super cute.  I am so going to miss the Sending Love Specialty paper!  You only have until the end of April to order this. I realize this is a little late but remember it for next year!

A great card!

Isn't this the greatest card?  Of course from my friend Nancy F.  She just stamps the best cards.  I love how she uses the Flower punch from the Occasions Mini and the With all my heart Stamp Set.  The fold just adds some great detail. Thank you Nancy for sharing.

Feature Artist-Good Neighbors

Nancy F. is the featured artist again. Nancy be sure to claim your Free Stamps.  I loved this combination that Nancy sent in using the Good Neighbors stamp set and the Good Neighbors paper pad. Each of these items are free with a purchase of $50 or more during Sale-A-Bration.

 

This card is so cute with the fold.  I love the little Chocolate Chip Epoxy Brad in the middle of the corduroy button is too cute.

The bright colors of this card just make you happy.  The little heart is also one of the new punches in the occasions mini.

 

This card is my favorite.  It is 2 six inch squares overlapped and folded into the middle.  This card was the inspiration for the cards we will be doing in the Sale-A-Bration Class 2.

Chocolate Bunny - again!

I told you I would have another Chocolate Bunny Card for you.  Don't you just want to eat him?  This little easel card is very simple and stands up so nicely on someones desk or table.  We made this card at Simply Stamp Time and my Demonstrator Get Together.  The most challenging part of this card is making the scalloped layer.  This uses our new scalloped border punch in the Occasions Mini and the scalloped border punch that is available for free with a $50 purchase in the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  It is a little challenging but if you go to this post Scallop Border & Corner Punch you can see a video that walks you through step by step.

Last minute!

 Yesterday, I told you about a private workshop I had at my house recently.  I am now going to tell you a funny story about what happened that day.  If you read my blog regularly you know I have been traveling alot the last couple of months to watch my daughter play volleyball.  This schedule has taken a lot of pre-planning.  I knew I had this workshop scheduled the morning after I came back so I had prepped all the boxes and set them on my table.  I was so proud of myself that everything was ready to go.  THe morning of the workshop arrives and I am doing some work and they arrive and I start to show them the projects and realize I have not cut  any paper.  Luckily these ladies have been here before and they laughed.  WHile I toook a couple of minutes to cut paper they looked at stuff around my studio and saw this card laying on my desk.

Nancy F. one of my downline had sent me the card and I had just opened it. They liked it so much they jokingly asked if they could make it!  Well, since I felt liked I owed them we did.  THe problem is that it has a tricky fold and I had to measure but they loved it.  So I decided to make a similar fold at club.

The window sheet comes printed with the snowflakes.

THis is the inside with the top flap up and then this flap folds down.  Everyone thought this was a great design to include a holiday letter in the card.
 
 
 

July Club is almost here!

This fun Fathers Day card was a hit.  Everyone was surprised how easy the fold was.  Some people made it a Male birthday card by just changing the greeting.

  

 

THis card was suggest by one our club regulars - Becky.  She had seen something like this on the internet and forwarded it to me and asked if we could do it. So I played around with the one she sent me and came up with a simpler version.  THis card uses the Bella Rose paper that is discontinued!

 This was a big hit as a quick and simple card yet very bright and cheery.  THe little card pulls out of the pocket to write a note on.

 

This card uses some more discontinuing stamp sets and inks.  THe large grommet and button in the middle is very cute.

Sneak Peak Cont'd

Here are some more samples from the Demonstrator Get Together in Northern California.  THe card on the right uses the new stamp set Autumn Days and a new In-COlor Soft Suede.  The card on the right didn't use anything new but was a hit!

This fun fold has been a big hit for me.  It didn't use anything new but the Designer Series Paper Tea Party gave it a cheery look.  THe hit was the idea of putting the brads through the buttons! 

It's Club Time Again!

  These were the projects we made at Club in May!  Aren't they fun?   You don't have to do anything to join club - except RSVP that you will be attending on the months you can come.  In June we are meeting on Tuesday, June 2 at 10:00AM or 6:30 PM and Friday, June 5 at 10:00 AM. Everyone loved the square medallion made with the scallop border punch.  THe card on the right was a fun technique creating the background by burnishing with sponges. 

THe card on the right was probably the most challenging with the ruffle around the focal piece.  This was done by crimping the piece and working it around.  The effect was definitely worth the work.  THe  flower pot card was a big hit and super simple and everyone was happy to have a mother's day card done!

These are two of our projects from club yesterday.  We usually meet the first Tuesday but I was at the Stampin' Up! I love this fold.  It is so perfect with Designer Series Papers.  This card uses the items from the Love Ya Much Bundle that is on special until Sunday, January 18.  This is a great savings of 20% off.  The items in the bundle will be in the new catalog but not discounted!  We did make one more item but I am using that as my incentive item for my downline this month so you will have to wait to see it!

Cool Tri-Fold Card

 

As I have mentioned, each month I send out a project to my first level who have achieved certain goals as a reward!  It is quite an incentive for them because they also get free product that goes with the project.  The most recent project is this one.  Isn't it cute.  It is a very simple tri-fold card that looks so cute sitting on the gable like this.  This particular one uses Felt Fusion Too in the new In Colors Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze and our old stand by Chocolate Chip (the new black!)  The ribbon is the new double stitched Baja Breeze.  If you want this pattern think about buying the Pockets Silhouettes Class by mail.  It is included in that class instruction and you make one as one of the 10 cards included.  Remember you can substitute anything in the class list as long as the total dollar value stays the same.  I will also be including this in an upcoming Masculine card class that is just too cool.  So stay tuned.

Sorry about missing yesterdays post.  I was playing in a 3 day golf tournament in Monterey Bay.  We had gorgeous weather!  I even had time in the evenings to work on some way cool projects.  What could be better golfing and stamping!

More Bella Rose!

 

My friend Kaylene made these for her friends.(Again apologize for the watermark with my name but I will eventually figure it out!)  Again it uses Bella Rose Designer Series Paper.  It is really cute to add a few photos to and put a few more in the pocket.   She originally did this for a Fathers Day Album.  Here is a link to her blog Kaylene that shows how she did it.  Look for an upcoming class to learn how to make these!

Celebrate

One of my downline Nancy F. sent a card that used the cute fold down corner with the eyelet and ribbon.  I thought it was so cute I used it in this card.  I have used this design in a number of cards in different color I added the little embossed dots that I did with the Crop-a-dile.  The Celebrate everything set is a great one that covers a lot of occasions.

The card uses the Ginger Blossoms Designer Series Paper with Cameo coral and Groovy Guava.  I just love the Tqo-sided paper and anytime I can use it and show both sides I think it is great!

Buttons

One of the items in our Catalog preview for demonstrators are some new buttons!  I can’t wait so I thought I would share one of my favorite button cards.  I had seen a sample that used buttons as a border and I thought it was so cool I used the idea on this card.  I love this fold.  You can’t tell from the picture but the Tempting Turquoise layer also opens so that there are two flaps.  One of my demonstrators Chris V. sent me a card with this fold years ago and I constantly use it.

The stamp set is Boho Backgrounds.  The buttons are from Fresh Favorites 1.  The colors are Not Quite Navy, Tempting Turquoise and Certainly Celery.  The Tempting Turquoise paper is our Designer Series Paper.

Give this fold a try – you will be hooked!  It is especially great with the Two sided Designer Series Papers!

Flowers or Grapes?

Each time the Retired Stamp Set list comes out, I have my daughter go through my stamp shelf and pull all the retiring sets.  I put them in a special area so I make sure not to use them in long range planning and so I can say good-bye to a few favorites.  Blossoms Abounds is one that is leaving this year that I will miss.  We first saw this set in a catalog preview for demonstrators and silly me thought it was grapes.  So I stamped some cute cards with the blossoms in green – I like green grapes!  I am not a very good flower person.  I eventually found out that it was not grapes but I still liked the set.  I use it in classes when I need to teach Two-step stamping or how to use a Stampa-ma-jig.  This card is one we made in stamp club one month.

The card is a tri-fold and looks so pretty sitting.  It is stamped on the textured Whisper White which gives it a create look.  The colors of the blossoms (not grapes!) are Almost Amethyst and Elegant Eggplant.  The designer Series Paper is the Almost Amethyst and is a great weight of paper for this type of card.  I hope you enjoy this card and as far as I am concerned if you need a grape stamp, this one would work.
