Thanksgiving Pumpkins

I know it is time for Christmas stuff, but I had to share the cute stuff my daughter-in-law did for Thanksgiving.  My son is currently deployed so Emily celebrated with friends.  She asked me what kind of decorations she could make.

These pumpkins are super simple.  Her friends couldn't believe they were paper.  The little cello bag party favors I thought were adorable and she did a great job with the Bottle Hangers!  She was very excited!  Now, she has a cookie exchange and is concerned she is building a reputation she has to live up to!  That's ok!  That is what I have been doing for the past 20 years, helping crafters be creative!

Still room in the Wednesday night Sparkling White Christmas Class.  I will be cutting paper Tuesday night.  I promise you these cards are beautiful. 

 

Simply Sent From Emily

Hi Everyone,

I'm Tami's Daughter-In-Law Emily (see photo below with Chris, my husband and Shadow, my stampin' buddy).

I did not grow-up around Stampin' Up! so this is all new to me. I decided to get into it after I got sick of not having cards around the house for last minute use and store bought cards just seemed boring. I will admit - I was intimidated at first, have you seen the photos of some of those cards in the catalog? And, I don't have a ton of time on my hands - so Tami suggested I try Simply Sent to see how I like it.  Here is how Round 1 went!  

I chose the Simply Sent Everyday Elegance Card Set with the coordinating Everyday Wishes stamp sent and Classic Stamp Pads in Basic Grey and Cherry Cobbler. The cards looked easy enough to make while still looking great! The card below is the Baja Breeze version with Basic Grey ink.

Three things I really love about these cards are 1) the tags are self adhesive for minimal/easy assembly, 2) the tags look great wherever you put them on the card, and 3) they are super fast to make (I made all 8 in about 10 minutes)!

A new stamper - Emily!

If you have been following my blog for awhile you will know my son got married this past February.  I assisted my daughter-in-law with a number of things for the wedding that I was able to do with Stampin' Up! Product - My Digital Studio, traditional and anything we could think of.

These are just a few of them.  Check the category wedding to see some of the other things we did.

  Emily and I had a good time working together (At least I think so!).  Well, Emily reads my blog periodically and commented that she wished she could come to one of my classes, so I offered to send her some stuff and see what she thought.  Well, she has now recieved a few boxes and created some cute projects.

Even my son commented that she was pretty good!  Here are a couple  of her cards

I am impressed. I do have to tease her.  While working on the wedding she wouldn't allow any pearls or rhinestones.  She does like them on her cards now!  In fact I have asked Emily to be a guest blogger.  I am on vacation while this is posting and there is a special starting on October 1st that was right up Emily's alley so you might want to check back in October to see what she shares.  Liz my daughter will also doing some guest blogging while I am gone.  I love watching new crafters start out.  Keep in mind these girls live in small apartments and have limited supplies.  They also enjoy decorating their apartments with our Decor Elements and I am sure you will be seeing some posts about these in the next few months!

Build a Blossom & First Edition

I spent the Fourth of July in San Diego with my son and his wife, Emily.  Emily has been trying her hand at some stamping and was really enjoying it so while I was there we went through the new 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog and talked about the different things.  I got a feel for her style and we put in an order for some fun stuff for her.  She just now sent me a picture of a card she made for her mother!  I love it.

Didnt she do a great job?  I love how she stamped the Build A Blossom petals on the First Edition Designer Series Paper.  The layered Designer label punch is awesome with just the little bit of color.  The pearl on the "i" is totally cool.  I do believe Emily is going to make a great stamper!

I am just so impressed!
