Summer Smooches Window Decorations

If you visited our booth at the Scrapbook Expo, you saw the great garlands atop the booth.  They made such a festive air.  I wanted to figure out where I could do that home.  If my husband knew how many ideas like this I have he would be scared to come home at night.  I have a very large window in my stamp studio with just plain blinds, no colorful window treatment so I decided that was what I was going to do.  I wanted to use something bright and new in the upcoming 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! Catalog (yes, I did look at online and it is AMAZING!).  I chose the Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper.

Isn't it just happy?  Here are a couple of close ups.

I was so impressed with these garlands that Elizabeth P. had created from an inspiration on Pinterest, I wanted to share them with my downline.  Each month I send my directs a project and some materials to inspire them.  This past month I made each of them a little banner  with Summer Smooches.  I cut the paper with the Circles #2 die and cut assortment of papers so that they each received a garland using the equivalent of 1 sheet of paper but with assorted colors.  When I was done I had scraps that I punched with 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" circles.  I used 3 packs of paper for the original garlands and the scraps were all I used for my window.  It is amazing how far it goes.  All you do is run it through the sewing machine.  If you want them spaced out more pull the circle through a little and if you want them close just feed them in.   You really have to see it to see how cute it is!

OK, back to the new catalog.  It is amazing and wonderful.  I did just stamp 2 cards with some of my fun new supplies.  LOVE THEM!  I will have them going up this coming week.  I like to have the people I make cards for recieve them before you guys get to see them.  Sorry.

It is almost here! 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! Idea Catalog

I can't believe on Monday I will get to see the new Stampin' Up! catalog online!  Yeah, for being a demonstrator.  By the end of the week I will have my copy in my hot little hands.  Hopefully in time to read on the plane trip to spend Mother's Day Weekend with my daughter!

Today's samples I am going to share are from my INKERBELLES! Directs Group dinner at Leadership in San Antonio this past January.  We are all getting excited for Convention in Salt Lake City in July.  I have a couple of my directs attending for the first time! WAHOO!

I LOVED this card by my golf buddy and demonstrator Olive.  I even changed it slightly and we made it at Simply Stamp Time.  The Mocha Morning Designer Series Paper is retiring.  I am going to miss it.  But I am excited to see what is in store!  But be sure to get some if you want before it is gone.  Check out the retiring lists before the month ends.

This card was made by Elizabeth P.  I just love her attention to the little details.  I am so glad that First Edition is hanging around.  I was holding my breath awhen I read the retriing list.  I even had a couople of my demonstrators send me emails knowing how relieved I would be.  I don't believe that stamp set made it but be sure to check out the Occasions Mini Catalog Carry Over list to see what will be in the new Stampin' Up!  Catalog so are still available from the Occasions Mini in case you didn't your order in before the end of April.

Make & takes

Believe it or not I actually made BOTH make & takes at the San Antonio Regional!  If you follow me on facebook you will have seen a number of comments (some a little disbelieveing!?)  You see, I have a hard time stamping at Stampin' Up! Events!  I know many you are in shock.  That is the best part!  I know!  I am just not so good at it!  I have been known to stamp Make & Takes upside down, on the envelopes and a number of other embarrassing things have happening.  But I did it this time.  Here they are.

I think part of the reason I completed them is that I liked the cards.  The flower on this one is cleverly done with the largest of the three layer doily punch, the second one fromt he same punch and four small hearts.  Stitching around the edge with the white pen was a little bit of challenge for me. Now, how about those large rounded corners?  Well, that is made by sticking the corner into a circle punch from the bottom.  I will try to take a couple of pictures and show you!  But it is the
same idea as how we did the Designer Label in this tutorial.  Like the stem?  There was a stamp on the table but I drew it! Oh well!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I have to show you two views of this card because you would not believe that I actually made a spinner card - that worked!  Yes I did!  I will admit that the tangerine tango celebrate you circle was not part of the original design.  I got a finger smudge and that is how I fixed it!  I hope everyone is throughly impressed and if you would like more up to date information on my various adventures please feel free to follow me on facebook.  You can just click the thingy on the side.  Trust me I am not crazy but sometimes entertaining!

Lots of Stampin' Up! Goodies!

Yep, that is what I came home from Stampin' Up!'s Leadership Conference with!

I didn't even win a Prize Patrol and yet look at all the loot!  I also stayed for the San Antonio Regional where I got some stuff!  But most of it was from Leadership.  What a great reason to attend a Stampin' Up! event.  You do need to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator to attend these events!  The next big one is Convention in Salt Lake City, July 18 -21, 2012.  I am very excited for this one for I will be honored for my 20 years as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.

Blossom Punch

The new Occasions Mini has so many exciting products!  The Blossom Punch is a great one for a quick cute card.

This quick card was made using this fabulous new punch and the coordinating stamp set Mixed Bunch.  Here is a quick card made with just the stamp set.

These are made on the notecards and envelopes that are in the Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.  Each month I recognize Stampin' Up! Demonstrators in my downline who are the top 20 in personal sales and anyone who has recruited more than 2 new demonstrators in the month.  I try to keep these cards simples - something they could use as a make & take at one of their events and using current or new product. 

Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Incentive

This is the card I sent to direct demonstrators as an incentive last month.  I made it using the cool Peekaboo frame from the Holiday Mini and the Christmas Lodge Stamp Set.  I love the shabby look of it with the pop of cherry cobbler on the doors.  Under the doors it says happy haolidays.

Each month Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who are direct to me recieve an incentive if they reach certain goals or are in their first year.  I send a project and some coordinating project.  I try to give them a project they can demonstrate and help increase sales or inspire them.  I have heard from a number of my demonstrators that this card helped them sell the peekaboo Big Shot die!  WOOHOO!  love it and it is such a pretty card.

Gently Falling!

This is a card made by one of my downline Dena R.  She made it for our Holiday Mini swap.  I love how she over stamped the outline of the leaf without lining it up.  The little pieces of pattern look so clean and simple. The greeting is from the very elegant Hand-Penned Holidays also in the Holiday Mini. Here is another card she made.

I love how she created the texture of the Spice Cake Designer Series Paper by roughing it up after cutting it with the terrific trims die for the Big Shot. Isn't the very vanilla velvet ribbon yummy?  Love the clean freshness of the card.

Peekaboo & Gently Falling

I love this card!  I even used the basic idea for a Simply Stamp Time card.  The little door si so much fun.  Dena R. made this as part of our Holiday Mini Swap.  Here is another one:

I love the layer of the same paper with the randomly stamped leaves.  I really love the fabric ribbon.  It is so much fun to use fabric instead of ribbon sometimes.  The Hand-penned greeting adds a great simple elegance.

This is the card that I made for the INKERBELLES! Directs Dinner Swap at the Stampin' Up! Convention this past July!  At the 2 major events that Stampin' Up! holds for Demonstrators I host a dinner for my directs who attend.  It is a lot of fun seeing everyone together.  My directs are in about 10 different states so some of these ladies only see each other at these events.    This card was inspired by the card on page 183 of the Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog 2011-2012.  I loved the idea of hanging a trinket inside the sweet treat cups!  I combined it with the Mocha Morning Designer Series Paper.  One of the rules of the swap is that we have to use something new from the catalog.  Notice the little mini silver brads.  They are really tiny but add a great bang.  Here are some close ups.

 

To get the trinket inside the sweet treat cup you use a cropadile to punch a hole in the edge of the cup and thread the ribbon down through the hole, through the trinket and back out the hole and tie a knot.  Way easy for a cool look.  And don't forget you need a padded envelope to mail this card!

Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - INKERBELLES!

My group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators is called INKERBELLES!  It is a group of over 2000 demonstrators all over the country!  I have over 60 that are direct to me either because I recruited them or because the people who were between me and them have dropped.  I love communicating and helping them have fun build businesses at the level they would like.  One of the things I do is a monthly incentive for these directs.

Each month when they meet certain goals, or for their first year as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator they recieve a project from along with some product.  I hope this helps them have things to demonstrate for their customers and helps them try new things that maybe they couldn't afford to try or weren't sure was their style.  This months card is an My Digital Studio Hybrid Card.  This means that I printed the card through My Digital Studio and then added to it to give it a little dimension.  The reason I did this is I wanted to give everyone the Pick your Poison Quick Accents and Designer Series Paper and I couldn't figure out how to make enough different cards with the Pick Your Poison.  I realized then I should print a card with those items and then add some strips from the Quick Accents since there were plenty of these.

This is what you get in the Quick Accents.  Each of these sheets are 12 x 12.  You can see how hard it would be to make 30 similar cards using this but how easy it was to use the paper ribbons.  Each of the cards I made had a different paper strip down the side.

I added a rhinestone at the bottom that I colored black with a permanent marker.  I also spritzed with Platinum Shimmer paint that I mixed in a hand sanitizer.  I thought the card turned out cute.  Here is the original My Digital Studio card before I hybrided it!

As you can see cute as is but way cuter with the additions.

The reason I do this incentive is most of those directs live all over the country and cannot benefit from meetings as other groups do.  I do do 3 meetings a year at my house for those Stampin' Up! My Digital Studio and Demonstrator Incentive

I recently started an incentive program for everyone in my downline, that when they promote to supervisor or above they get to pick some free Stampin' Up! merchandise.  The higher the promotion the more product!  SWEET!  Well, I had to figure out how to notify them of this reward in an easy and efficient way.  My Digital Studio to the rescue.  I made a card for each title level.  The message inside is printed with what they recieve and then I put the instructions to claim their reward on the back.

I used the templates that are pre-designed in the program so I didn't have to spend a lot of time.

These are the four designs so far for the four titles that occur the most frequently.  So far everyone who has recieved them has loved the reward and most comment about how cool the My Digital Studio card is and that they were going to have to do more with the program because they didn't realize how cool the print products were.

More Mocha Morning!

Here is another gorgeous card with the Mocha Morning Specialty Paper.  The black swirls on the back layer are flockked. and the coppery, gold layer is metallic!  LOVE IT!

This is the card I sent to my first levels (Direct & Adopted) in my downline who achieved certain minimum goals in the month of July.  They also recieved some fun product!  One of the benefits of being in my downline!  Trust me the real card is too pretty for words.

THe stamp set is a new one from the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog - Occasions Alphabet.  Has a different little saying for each letter of the alphabet.  The embossed frame is one of the ones in the new set of embossing frames for the Big Shot.  The cool thing is that that one matches up perfectly with the stamp frame from the stamp set Frame It.  Add some First Edition Designer Series Paper (what card doesn't look better with some of this!) and the thick and rich velvet ribbon from the Holiday Mini and you have a beautiful card!

20 years of Creativity!

That is right I will have had 20 years of creativity as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator on August 30 of this year.  I recieved my 20 year pin in yesterdays mail!  I have recruited over 100 direct demonstrators in my time and earned a lot of awards and provided a great income for my family.  BUT the best part is the creativity that I get to share in.  For our recent booth at the Santa Clara Scrapbook Expo we decided to make sure that everything that we made was copied from some source available to Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.

I volunteered to recreate the hoops shown on page 78 of the catalog.  I was so excited when at convention there were even more shown!  I loved them and couldn't stop making them.  Some of the samples I CASEd (copy and share everything!) some other ones that Stampin'  Up! Demonstrators had shared on the forum Stampin' Connection which is only for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.  I even found some cards made in this product grouping - Timeless Portrait and turned them into the hoops.

So you wonder why I mentioned my 20 years as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator at the start of this post?  Well, if I had had to come up with only my original ideas for the last 20 years I am not sure I would have lasted but by sharing through swaps, blogs, forums and such Stampin' Up! Demonstrators can come up with great ideas and keep sharing these ideas with people.

If the thought of "I could never come up some many ideas!" has kept you from being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - think again.  There are so many resources it is harder to pull yourself away to stamp - and I am always amazed at what the final results are when I remembered where I started.  Check it out -it is always a good time to become a Stampin' Up! (YES, this was before the internet, YES, I have been a demonstrator that long!)  What was so funny is we described this card exactly (which was inspired by her pajamas which she wore in the skit!) and yet our two cards couldn't have looked more different!

Ok, enough of this - though I am thinking of sharing some great history stories of the old days of Stampin' Up! in the next few weeks as I celebrate my 20 years!  Just beware - I will show cute stamped stuff though (not the stuff I used to make!)

 

 

 

A Private Class!

Recently, I had a group of ladies to my home for a private class.  This group of ladies schedule a class with me 3-4 times a year.  They requests certain kinds of card but no Big Shot.  They are big crafters but don't want to start something new.  It doesn't seem like work when they come (but  most classes don't!).  Here are are a couple of projects that we made.

This card uses the Beau Chateu Designer Series Paper (one of the choices for Buy 3 get 1 free August Special.)  The 1" strips of paper were inserted into the 1" circle punch from the back and used to punch the rounded ends.  The Build a Cupcake punch is just too stinkin' cute and then add a little glimmer cherry on top!

This was another card.  The Fabulous Florets Stamp set with the Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper (also available in the Buy 3 get 1 free) is a great combination.  The Lace Ribbon Border Punch is such an elegant touch.  Sometimes though I think it is a bit wide and the Wide grosgrain ribbon is also too wide for me, so I cut the ribbon in half which gives it the frayed edge on one side and then laying it over the lace ribbon border it makes that seem a little narrower.  We added a couple of glimmer brads and cute simple card!  Check out the other card we made that day - Blossom Punch Card.

Speaking of convention, one of the things I do at convention is host a dinner for my direct recruits on the last evening.  It is a lot of fun.  My directs live all over the country and so this is one of the few times a year they see each other and we always laugh and catch up with kids and family and life.  A few years ago we started having a swap.  Here are a couple of cards from this last years swap.

This card is made by Maria G. from Florida.  I just love the cool effect she got with the flower and who doesn't love the fun flowers die.  The Morning Mocha Designer Series Paper is perfect for Maria because she can't start her day with out her coffee!

This card was by Katie M., from Texas.  On a side note she used to babysit my kids when I lived in Texas.  Her and Maria have become good friends and have a group that they room with.  They have turned Convention into a full on girls week and have quite the good time.  Katie's card is adorable with the new Pennant Punch.  So quick and easy to layer up!

Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Get Together

Yes, I have finally set the date!  August 20th is the next INKERBELLES! Group Get Together.  This is for all my downline who are able to come to my home in Walnut Creek, CA!  We have a great day doing make & takes, sharing ideas, a short business meeting where we recognize achievements.  At this meeting I have asked those that attended the Stampin' Up! Convention to share their favorite thing!  I can't wait to see what these are.

These are a couple of the cards we made at the last INKERBELLES! Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Get Together.  I usually focus on the Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogs so for  August we will be using mostly the Holiday Mini!  These cards use the Flower Fest Stamp Set!  So quick and easy.  The card on the left is a simple no layer card made on our notecards that come with envelopes!  Cute and simple.  The one on the right is made by using the coordinating Fancy Flower punch.  Happy cards.  I love the sentiment!  It is from the set Happy Greetings which is in the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini and did not make it into the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog. Pennant Parade

One of the unique offerings Stampin' Up! makes is it coordination of product.  Groups  of product that work together seamlessly are designed to help us make great looking products.  In the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog a new stamp set Pennant Parade is designed to go with Petite Pennants Builder Punch.  On page 69 of the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog this stamp set is shown.  You can see around the pennants a light gray line.  This indicates a punch matches these shapes.  Below the images is a note which punch and on which page it is.  All through the catalog you will see this type of notation.  Makes it so easy to coordinate! LOVE IT!

This card is the one I made for my May Direct Demonstrators Incentive.  Each month demonstrators that are direct to me who meet certain benchmarks recieve a project and some free product!  Want to get a great gift each month from? - become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for $99 with me!  This project used the new Pennant Parade Stamp Set and Pettite Pennants Builder Punch.  May's incentive is always hard.  The incentives go out mid month of the following month - so June in this case.  This means that the retiring list is out and I can't order new product for them yet I want to make them a sample/project they can use for awhile.  This card worked well.  I used the stamp set and punch from my pre -0rder (another Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Perk) but was able to incorporate product on carryover - In color Desginer Series Paper Stacks, Glimmer Brads, etc.  For this month there gift was the stack of Designer Series Paper!  THis card was simple and fun.  I love the monochromatic them of it.

I am finding one of my new favorites is the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.  This set of three little punches is a great way to add just a little fluff to cards.

Cool new Punches!

This is one of the cards we made at Simply Stamp Time this past week. My friend Dawn shared it with me and I just the love the bright happy colors.   The cool flowers are made with our new triple flowers punch from the Summer Mini.  The punch has three different settings so you can punch a variety of different thins.  My friend and downline Liz P. made a very cool card with this punch.

Each month I send cards to my demonstrators who are in the top 20 for personal sales, promoted or recruited some new demonstrators into their group!  I usually send around 30-40 cards so they have to be simple!  These were ones I did in the last couple of months.  I just added a quick button for one of the flowers. Some More Valentines!

Dena R. did this one for our Occasions Mini swap. I love the cute button for the O. The letters she cut out with a Big Shot alphabet. These big buttons are in the Occasions Mini in two different color assortments!  The pompom trim comes in 3 colors. Isn't it fun?

This is her other card from the Valentine Defined Stamp Set.  Aren't the flamingos adorable?  The chunky glitter makes them just jump off the page.  The little hang tag uses our Tiny  Tags set from the Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog and the jewelry tag.  The Designers Series Paper is more of the Love Impressions!  Super cute card Dena!

Halloween Rub-ons

Each month I send simple cards to demonstrators in my downline to compliment them on being in the Top 20 for personal sales in my downline and recruiting more than 2 new demonstrators.  This past month I made some using the Halloween Rub Ons from the Holiday Mini.  The spooky candelabra is from Dark & Dreary.  Great for a quick note.  The rub-ons have a metallic sheen to them.

Here is the other one I made.  I added the little flourish behind the Happy Halloween from the Artistic Etchings set in the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.

Happy Holiday Mini!

I am so excited the Holiday Mini is finally available to my customers to order from.  The ladies at Simply Stamp Time yesterday had a hard time ordering with all the great new product.  If you would like your own personal copy contact me at wadainker@aol.com with your address and I will be happy to mail you one.  If you are on my customer list you should have received yours by now - so let me know if you haven't.

Having just celebrated my 19th anniversary with Stampin' Up! I can tell you I think this is the most exciting mini I have seen.  Be sure to check back because I have some great projects I have been creating. Here is a cute card from the mini.

 

I know it is a little early for Christmas but I love this card and my demonstrators who received this in their monthly incentive box have been raving about it.  To make the cool flower you punch out a bunch of layers of paper and fabric (YES! Coordinating FABRIC!) Then I sprayed the paper with Gold Smooch spritz and wadded it into little balls.  

Then lay them flat before they dry.  Then all you do is stack them up, punch with the Crop-A-Dile and put a brad in them, I used the new trinkets brad and then used the safety pin to attach the tag.  Notice the cool border?  That is also our new fabric cut with our Terrific Trims die for the Big Shot. 

 

These are three of the four trims you can cut with the Terrific Trims Die and these are the three fabrics in the Deck the Halls fabric assortment!
 

We have this cool adhesive that comes in sheets and you cut it put on the  back of the fabric run it through the big sheet peel off and you have a great trim!

Very Vanilla - so yummy

Each month I put together a package of product and a project to send to my first level demonstrators, those I have recruited.  I do this since so many of demonstrators live in other states and can't come to my Demonstrator Get Together.  They have to meet certain requirements - sales & recruiting, to receive it.  They love these boxes.  This card was once I did in the last few months.  One of the things I am always trying to do is "hide my mechanics."  This is what one of my demonstrators always says when creating and I have a customer who will add a layer to a card to just hid some bracket backs.  This card hides the mechanics of the decorative hardware with an entire layer inserted in the ribbon inside the card.  This layer also adds some texture to the front of the card that is trimmed a little shorter with the scallop embroidered punch.  By using  a strip of the polka dot folder on the inside layer, a piece of  another folder inside, makes for some neat texture.  The stamp set is Tiny Tags.  By layering the  decorative hHardware over the scallop punch the focal point appears larger though it was made with a small set of stamps.

19th Convention - Still ticking!

I have a lot of fun samples and pictures from Convention, but my daughter Liz, who went with me is still asleep and they are on her camera.  So I am going to share a few pictures that are on my phone.  Cheri, Sue & I have been hanging together at convention for many years.  They are both in my downline.  At the last session Shelli gave everyone this great packet with product from the upcoming Holiday Mini (you won't want to miss it!)  We got a Level 2 hostess set, stamp pad, glass glitter and designer series paper.  This is just one of the reasons that you want to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and attend convention.

Prize Patrol during the General Sessions is another.  After each presentation they have a drawing.  When you check in you get a wristband with a different color or print and when they pull yours you get free product.  My daughter Liz won a stamp set and punch from the Holiday Mini!  We laughed her wristband was pink flowers -totally her!  A new thing this year was each convention attendee has the chance to buy product bundles at 25% discount on top of our 20% demonstrator discount based on each presentation.  By the time convention was over we could buy most of the Holiday mini at discount.  Totally worth going to convention.
