White Chrismas close up!

This is one of the cards from the Sparkly White Christmas Card Class.  To make the wreath you want to punch the circle in the middle of the wreath first with the 1 3/8"
circle punch. Then center and punch with the large scallop circle.  Run it through the big shot in an embossing folder.  I used Petals-a-Plenty.

To make the silver ring inside the wreath.  Take the layer of silver glimmer paper that is under the shimmer white and punch a 1 1/4" circle then center the 1 3/8" circle punch around it.  This saves you paper as well.

I painted the smooch pearlized accent ink top coat onto the centers of the flowers .

To stamp the greeting use the shimmer paint and a sponge and lightly sponge onto image and stamp.  It takes a little to dry. 

I just love these cards.  I am going to finish another project I have been working on today and will hopefull share them with you tomorrow or Friday.

Fall Samples

Elisa made this for our Holiday Mini Swap.  The stamp set is Always Thankful and is a great watercolor set or gorgeous stamped like Elisa did in this card.  I love the little scallop ribbon and Spice Cake Designer Series Paper.  And of course Hand-Penned.

LOVE CHERRY COBBLER!  The black striped grosgrain just looks so elegant anchored with the antique brad.  The watercolor is so pretty.  Good job! Elisa!

Simply Stamp Time = Fun Time

I have to say Simply Stamp Time is my favorite week of the month anymore.  In October each session had me laughing so hard with the fun ladies that attend!  Way too much fun!  You really need to mark your calendar to join us in Walnut Creek in November.

Here is what we made last month.

It is hard to say what the favorite was!  They were all so much fun.  But I do know that a number of ladies bought the Peek a Boo die for the Big Shot based on this card.  The die is in the Holiday Mini.

This die for the big shot makes 5 diferent little doors that you can use on all kinds of things.

The little doors are so adorable and it is so quick because the die cuts the frame, door and little slot.  I can't wait to figure out more things to do with.

Simply Stamp Time - Next Week

This was probably the 2nd favorite project at Stamp Time in September.  It uses my favorite set from the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog - Kindness Matters.  It is only $8.95 in clear mount and includes the images on this card except for the big doily.  The little ruffle on the bottom was easy to line up using the clear mount guides on the clear blocks.  The colors of this card are the new 2011-2013 In Colors - Pool Party, Lucky Limeade & Wisteria Wonder.  Just a fun simple card.

Simply Stamp Time!

 

This another one of the projects we made at Simply Stamp Time in September.  The stamp set for the leaf is Gently Falling from the Holiday Mini.  It is a great Two-Step set.  The outline of leaf was stamped first with Soft Suede ink and then the solid image was inked with the champagne shimmer spray and sponged on the image and stamped over the top of the outline!  Isn't it lovely?  The pear pizzaz card base is embossed with the Herringbone embossing folder.  The frame is a cool technique using the Simply Scored and Spice Cake Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Mini.  The words are another favorite from the Holiday Mini - Hand-Penned Holidays.  We embossed it with the pewter embossing powder (yep, holiday mini again!)  The edge of the banner was made with the Decorative Label punch.  Check out this post for the details -  Trick or Treat.

A Private Class!

Recently, I had a group of ladies to my home for a private class.  This group of ladies schedule a class with me 3-4 times a year.  They requests certain kinds of card but no Big Shot.  They are big crafters but don't want to start something new.  It doesn't seem like work when they come (but  most classes don't!).  Here are are a couple of projects that we made.

This card uses the Beau Chateu Designer Series Paper (one of the choices for Buy 3 get 1 free August Special.)  The 1" strips of paper were inserted into the 1" circle punch from the back and used to punch the rounded ends.  The Build a Cupcake punch is just too stinkin' cute and then add a little glimmer cherry on top!

This was another card.  The Fabulous Florets Stamp set with the Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper (also available in the Buy 3 get 1 free) is a great combination.  The Lace Ribbon Border Punch is such an elegant touch.  Sometimes though I think it is a bit wide and the Wide grosgrain ribbon is also too wide for me, so I cut the ribbon in half which gives it the frayed edge on one side and then laying it over the lace ribbon border it makes that seem a little narrower.  We added a couple of glimmer brads and cute simple card!  Check out the other card we made that day - Blossom Punch Card.

Simply Stamp Time

I recently held a private class for a group of ladies.  The projects are similar to what I do at Simply Stamp Time. They just like to set up their own time!  This is one of the projects we made - I think it was their favorite!  It uses the build a blossom punch and stamp set.  The center of the flower is made with one of the large buttons in the button assortment and a black glimmer brad.  The ribbon frosting with sticky tape and seam binding is always such an elegant touch.  Of course what card is complete without a little (or alot!) of First Edition Designer Series Paper.  The strips on the bottom is from the Designer Series Patterns Pack.  You can see the little border peeking out using the ribbon border punch.  I really liked this card and they did to!

Pennant Parade

One of the unique offerings Stampin' Up! makes is it coordination of product.  Groups  of product that work together seamlessly are designed to help us make great looking products.  In the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog a new stamp set Pennant Parade is designed to go with Petite Pennants Builder Punch.  On page 69 of the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog this stamp set is shown.  You can see around the pennants a light gray line.  This indicates a punch matches these shapes.  Below the images is a note which punch and on which page it is.  All through the catalog you will see this type of notation.  Makes it so easy to coordinate! LOVE IT!

This card is the one I made for my May Direct Demonstrators Incentive.  Each month demonstrators that are direct to me who meet certain benchmarks recieve a project and some free product!  Want to get a great gift each month from? - become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for $99 with me!  This project used the new Pennant Parade Stamp Set and Pettite Pennants Builder Punch.  May's incentive is always hard.  The incentives go out mid month of the following month - so June in this case.  This means that the retiring list is out and I can't order new product for them yet I want to make them a sample/project they can use for awhile.  This card worked well.  I used the stamp set and punch from my pre -0rder (another Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Perk) but was able to incorporate product on carryover - In color Desginer Series Paper Stacks, Glimmer Brads, etc.  For this month there gift was the stack of Designer Series Paper!  THis card was simple and fun.  I love the monochromatic them of it.

I am finding one of my new favorites is the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.  This set of three little punches is a great way to add just a little fluff to cards.

Hello, My Friend!

WOW! I can't believe this past week got away from me!  I have been busy getting my swaps (yes, I am actually doing an organized swap!), directs gifts (you want to be one of my directs - my convention gift is pretty dang awesome find how you can be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for $99 and attend convention next year!) and swaps for my directs dinner (again become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and attend convention and you will be able to participate!).  But they are finally done and ready to go.  So before I leave I am going to get some posts scheduled to go up and hopefully I will share a couple of things with you while I am there.  The best place to see stuff though is on my facebook - so be sure to go to my page Tami Waddell Creates and like me or become a fan or whatever it is and you will see some of the updates from convention.  Now onto the cute card-

This is one that I made from the pre buy stuff I could order.  The My Friend stamp set is just too cool - I love the swirlies onthis hello!  I am so glad the glimmer brads made it!  WHEW!  I am going through those by the bucket they just look so good!  I haven't used Poppy Parade very much so I am very happy that the In Colors are now around for 2 years since I just discovered this color combination and how happy it is.

I the viney flowery stamp in the stamp set is so great bold or just faintly in the background like I did on this one. 

Ok back to work!  need to pack and  finish getting organized!  Leaving early Tuesday morning!

Last 2 days - 2010-2011 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog

This is another one of our Simply Stamp Time Retirement Party Cards.  I am not putting directions up for this card.  Just google spinner card and you will find a million different tutorials.  Super simple and way fun.  The stamp set Party Hearty is retiring and has been my favorite card to make spinner cards with. I liked it because I could use it for graduation cards as well as birthday.

We made this card at Simply Stamp Time in June.  I made the June Simply Stamp Time a Retirement Party.  Our four projects were made using my favorite retiring stamp sets.  And no I don't keep any retiring stamp sets.  I know that Stampin' Up! always has something new and fun coming and after 20 years can you imagine what my studio would look like?  This card uses the Define your Life stamp set!  Layered on punches ( my favorite design technique! for now!)  The Newsprint Desginer Series Paper is also retiring but it is while supplies last.  To create the background look we layered three pieces on the basic black cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot using the lattice embossing folder.

Flirtatious Ribbon Fabric

The 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog has some lovely suites.  Suites are an assortment of stamp sets accessories and embellishments that are designed to work together.  It makes designing so fun and easy.  I can remember 15-20 years ago when we would get a new catalog and would spend a good portion of my crafting time just figuring out what went with what!  Now, I just get out a suite of items and get going and before you know it you have a great bunch of cards.  This card is from the Flirtatious Product Suite.  I added the Perfect PEnnants Bigz Die.  What?  There are no pennants on that card!  But on this cool die are 2 scalloped circles with detailing that perfectly coordinate with the Flirtatious Product Suite.  The Die also coordinates with the Big Top Product Suite and lots more.  I believe it is the best new die in the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.  I used a strip of one of the Flirtatious Designer Fabrics.  The other two fabrics you can see on this card.  I added the little tag from the Tiny Tags stamp set and jewelry tag punch. The doilies in the background is one of the papers from the Flirtatious Designer Series Paper.

Flirtatious is really special - Sneak Peak continues

Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper is GORGEOUS!  It comes with laser cut designs in Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo.  The big doily is cut from one of these pieces.  This New Designer Series Paper is available in the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.

This is just too pretty. For the card I just trimmmed out one of the doilies and layered it up with other punches including the Doily Triple Layering Punch.  Simple quick card!

My Friend - New Stampin' Up! Stamp Set

Here is another card made with My Friend Stamp Set, available in the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.  I use the color combinations in the Designers Series Papers as the start of my color combinations.  This really stretches what I would normally do.  Tbe Pocketful of Posies Designer Series Paper uses Baja Breexe, Pear PIzazz, Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, Early Espress, Soft Suede, Poppy Parade, SO Saffron, Whisper White.  When I start to use Designer Series Paper I start with identifying the light neutral for stamping, in this case whisper white and then the dark color for words our outlinees -early espresso in this color combo.  Then I pick the piece of paper I want to work with and use those colors.  I love how this card came out.  I am not a Daffodil Delight person, in fact I believe there is nothing in my closet or house in any shade of yellow.  BUT yesterday I found myself pulling out Daffodil Delight and using it over and over again.  It is very bright and happy.  My favorite thing to do right now is creating a focal point by layring up punches.

Add a few glimmer brads and some bling and a piece of seam binding and you got a cool card.  And yes the glimmer brads are in the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog and in fact you can buy them right now.  Search glimmer brad in the online store.

Sneak Peak Week!

I know I have been missing in action.  Just needed a break and was out of town for some golf now that the weather has finally got  nice!  Yesterday, I actually sat down and played with my 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog Sneak Peak Order!  WOW! It was fun.  As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator we get to order from a select group of merchandise a month before everyone else.

I copied the basics for this card right out of a sample in the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog, page109.  The sample in the catalog is a landscape design with Old Olive as the primary color.  I wanted to do something with the new stamp set My Friend and so I flipped the lay out to be portrait.  The other problem I ran into was I wanted to do it in Poppy Parade since that color is in the colors of the Pocketful of Posies Designer Series Paper that coordinates with this stamp set. The problem was that we don't have a lot of embellishments in Poppy Parade.  So, I tried some really red and I liked the look.  The white baker's twine in the little buttons bothered me so I took the Poppy Parade marker and just colored the twine.  Pretty cool trick - I did it at the end so you just have a little bit to do and you don't need to worry about letting it dry!

Yep, it is awesome.  You would think after nearly twenty years as a Stampin' Up! My Friends daughter recently graduated from Law School!  Yeah, Leslie!  I wanted to send her a card recognizing this great accomplishment!  I didn't have a graduation set that I felt was appropriate for this occasion but this word set Word Play from the Stampin' Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog was perfect and it is on sale this month with the National Scrapbooking Month Promotion.

The card on the left uses the Love Letters Designer Series Paper! LOVE IT!  The little beveled windowpanes highlight just lovely the saying from You're A Gem (Occasions Mini ) so only available until the end of April.  The card on the right makes me laugh.  I had been seeing many cards similar to this and couldn't figure out how they got the background behind the flower!  Well, come to find out Stampin' Up! has a great stamp - Sanded that is a background stamp!  I now own it and love it!  The stamp set is from Nature walk also only available until the end of April.

I have an addiction - to First Edition Designer Series Paper!

It  has become impossible for me to make a card without using the First Edition Designer Series Paper!  And since I have seen the upcoming Summer Mini which does not include the First Edition I am seriously having anxiety!  I hope it is on the carryover list or that it reappears in the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog for 2011-12!  Here is my latest creation.

I made this card for the Paper Players Challenge. It got me motivated.  Lately, I have been working on scrapbooks like crazy and when I sit down to stamp I keep coming up blank so I decided to try a challenge.  It was fun - share your favorite challenge with me!  I may need to do these more often.

Here are some close-ups and details on the card.

The focal point on this card is very cool.  I saw this technique in Stampin' Connection (an online community for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators only).  It uses our Beveled Windowpanes from the Occasions Mini.  They are really cool and have a little slit to run ribbon through if you would like.  But this one I put sticky strip around the edge and then used the Glass Glitter (occasions Mini).  To get the image on the frame I stamped with Black Stayz-On.  It does take a minute or two to dry but really cool.  The picture of the full card looks like it is stamped twice but that is just the reflection.  The Botanical Gazette Designer Series Paper I thought added some good texture and then of course what is a card these days without First Edition Designer Series Paper.  I love the little cluster of glimmer brad, ribbon rosette and button.  I hope you enjoy this card. I am pretty sure I am going to do a card with these frames at the April Simply Stamp Time on April 11 -12 so mark your calendar.

Last four days for Bliss!

Isn't this beautiful?  I started with the same focal image for both cards.  I inked it with Stayz-On white and then daubed on the frost white shimmer paint! OOOH! So pretty, but hard to photograph.  The tulip border is from the Tulip Embossing Folder for the Big shot from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  I just used one edge.  The embossed edge of the card base is from another Embossing Folder that I cut apart to use just a section, I then daubed on Frost white shimmer.  Add some crinkled First Edition Designer Series Paper (Occasions Mini) some brads and a cool crown (Occasions Mini)  Love it!

Same focal image and the other part of the tulip frame border I embossed for the first card. I tied some linen thread around to hang the key trinket (Occasions Mini) some more wrinkled First Edition Designer Series Paper and of course a little bling.  Cute Card?

I'm Back! Classes to offer!

Sorry, I was MIA for a few days - just needed to regroup and figure out what was going on.  The wedding was such a hard date that I planned very little past that and so needed to get things organized and figure out what we are doing!  Whew!

So, I am offering a class on Saturday, March 26 from 9:30-1:00.  This is a little longer than my normal classes but these are some cool cards and you get to make 8 of them plus a cool box to hold them and I am including envelopes! 

Last December on Shelli's Blog, Stampin' Up! CEO and co-founder, shared a set of cards she made as gifts for the Today Show Hosts.  I just fell in love with these cards and set down and made them.  I had to make a couple of adjustments due to lack of supplies or particular stamps (yeah, I don't own everything in the catalog and do periodically run out of stuff!  I had a gift exchange to go to so I took one for the gift for that and it was a hit.  I have been holding on to this for when I had time to offer a class.  So it is finally here.

You will get to make one each of the 8 cards, and a coordinating envelope, plus the box.  Class will start at 9:30 with making the box and then depending on your stamp speed you will make the rest of the cards.  They are actually very simple just awesome to look at.  The cost for the class is FREE with a $50 catalog purchase the day of class!  What a deal.  Don't forget this means that you will also get a Sale-A-Bration gift as well.

Sweet Summer - The last of the 36 cards

Yes, we have reached the end!  This is the last of my 36 cards made with the FREE Sale-A-Bration offerings.  You still have until the end of March to get some of this great stuff either by purchasing or having a workshop.

Isn't the little scallop square as a corner accent cute?  And of course glimmer brad!  Adds a subtle glitz.  The You're A Gem sentiment is from the stamp set in the Occasions Mini.  I punched it out with the Decorative Label punch turned on it side.

This card turned out so cute.  I used the Petal Card Double Punch to make the first two layers and then a scalloped circle underneath.  I used a blender pen to give a little highlight to the center of the flower.  The patterned paper is from the Designer Series Patterned Paper Stack in Subtles.  The little key just adds a little cuteness.

Isn't this adorable? I picked the colors based on the colors in the Lap of Luxury Designer Series Paper - Concord Crush, Pretty In Pink, Basic Gray and Very Vanilla.  It is a very luxurious look!

I am not a big Owl fan but decided to give it a try.  I stamped the owl in Concord Crush (In color) and then punched out the owl.  I punched the vest and heart in a piece of the Lap of Luxury Designer Series Paper.  The large grey scallop  border is made with the Tasteful Trims die for the Big Shot. 

 

More Bliss!

I am loving the Sahara Sand and Very Vanilla combo - thank you Blueberry Crisp Designer Series Paper for sharing that idea with me.  I frequently get new color combos from the Designer Series Paper combinations.  Love the simple elegance of this card.  The little hangin crown from the Occasions Mini just adds something extra.

This card is just so fluffy!  It is hard to see but I sponged the torn edge of the Blueberry Crisp Designer Series Paper with the Frost White Shimmer paint.  And sprayed a little that I had mixed in a spray hand sanitizer.  Lots of bits and pieces but I think they came together well.  Remember you only have until March 31st to get this stamp set for FREE!

 

Andy's 50th Birthday

A quick Sale-A-Bration break.  More of the 36 cards coming tomorrow but I thought I would give you a little change of pace.

My friend asked me if I could wrap up a birthday gift certificate for a friends 50th birthday. Oh, did I have anything that went with hot air balloons?  Sounded like a challenge.  Here is what I came up with.

I actually ended up changing out the balloon to a 50 printed out on My Digital Studio.  Forgot to take a picture after I made the change!  It looked way cute.

This is the top of the box I made using a 12 x 12 piece of Textured Basic Black Cardstock that I then sprayed with Silver Foil Smooch Spray.

The first picture is of the 12 x 12 piece of paper cut and scored.  You wrap it up and then place the lid on to hold it together then when it opens you see the card and the gift certificate was rolled up inside.  Here is  the card.

To gather the wide grosgrain I pulled a thread in the middle and then stuck it to two strips of sticky strip. The glimmer brads on the end hold the ends down great.  The stamp is from Bring on the Cake.  I used the Pearlized Silver Fox Pearlized Smooch Paint to accent the 5 and 0 but it didn't accent the th enough.  Instead I punched it out with the little circle punch in the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and put it on top of a punched piece of basic black using another punch from the punch pack.  Layering on the scalloped square made from with the Big Shot die in the Occasions Mini.
