Believe it or not I actually made BOTH make & takes at the San Antonio Regional!  If you follow me on facebook you will have seen a number of comments (some a little disbelieveing!?)  You see, I have a hard time stamping at Stampin' Up! Events!  I know many you are in shock.  That is the best part!  I know!  I am just not so good at it!  I have been known to stamp Make & Takes upside down, on the envelopes and a number of other embarrassing things have happening.  But I did it this time.  Here they are.

I think part of the reason I completed them is that I liked the cards.  The flower on this one is cleverly done with the largest of the three layer doily punch, the second one fromt he same punch and four small hearts.  Stitching around the edge with the white pen was a little bit of challenge for me. Now, how about those large rounded corners?  Well, that is made by sticking the corner into a circle punch from the bottom.  I will try to take a couple of pictures and show you!  But it is the
same idea as how we did the Designer Label in this tutorial.  Like the stem?  There was a stamp on the table but I drew it! Oh well!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I have to show you two views of this card because you would not believe that I actually made a spinner card - that worked!  Yes I did!  I will admit that the tangerine tango celebrate you circle was not part of the original design.  I got a finger smudge and that is how I fixed it!  I hope everyone is throughly impressed and if you would like more up to date information on my various adventures please feel free to follow me on facebook.  You can just click the thingy on the side.  Trust me I am not crazy but sometimes entertaining!

This is the card that I made for the INKERBELLES! Directs Dinner Swap at the Stampin' Up! Convention this past July!  At the 2 major events that Stampin' Up! holds for Demonstrators I host a dinner for my directs who attend.  It is a lot of fun seeing everyone together.  My directs are in about 10 different states so some of these ladies only see each other at these events.    This card was inspired by the card on page 183 of the Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog 2011-2012.  I loved the idea of hanging a trinket inside the sweet treat cups!  I combined it with the Mocha Morning Designer Series Paper.  One of the rules of the swap is that we have to use something new from the catalog.  Notice the little mini silver brads.  They are really tiny but add a great bang.  Here are some close ups.

 

To get the trinket inside the sweet treat cup you use a cropadile to punch a hole in the edge of the cup and thread the ribbon down through the hole, through the trinket and back out the hole and tie a knot.  Way easy for a cool look.  And don't forget you need a padded envelope to mail this card!

Cookie Press Fun with Liz!

Cookie Press Fun! Let's get to baking!

 

So I never thought being with Stampin’ Up for so many years, since I was 2 years old, that Stampin’ Up would think of this. Cookie Press is so cool! If you love Stampin’ Up and love baking, which I love them both, than Cookie Press is for you! My mom told me to order the cookie press, and I was a little skeptical. It seemed a little farfetched to stamp cookies. She raved about it at Convention, which sadly I couldn’t attend, she said how cool, cute and tasty they were!

I got them in the mail and couldn’t wait to make these cookies and play with the press! There are three different presses for the holidays: a heart for Valentine’s Day, a pumpkin for Halloween, and a snowflake for winter and Christmas time. One thing I wish they had were a couple different presses for each holiday so when you made the cookies, there would be some variety on your plate. I’m sure they will come up with that knowing Stampin’ Up! :)

I mainly used the pumpkin press, because its Halloween season. But I tried the other ones out to see what they looked like! I have to say, this is pretty easy and very cute! (Just like my mom said, but don’t tell her she was right :) ) I noticed that you can get a deep image on the cookie, or a slight image depending on the amount you want. I would recommend trying a few different recipes making the cookies. I used the sugar recipe they gave us, which tasted a lot like shortbread. I noticed that the edges of the cookies broke apart and were easily burnt when cooked. I just would recommend using a different recipe and see the difference.

These are my cookies I made: The first picture is of the recipe in the Stampin’ Up pamphlet that came with the press and the second cookies are from another recipe book!

Speaking of convention, one of the things I do at convention is host a dinner for my direct recruits on the last evening.  It is a lot of fun.  My directs live all over the country and so this is one of the few times a year they see each other and we always laugh and catch up with kids and family and life.  A few years ago we started having a swap.  Here are a couple of cards from this last years swap.

This card is made by Maria G. from Florida.  I just love the cool effect she got with the flower and who doesn't love the fun flowers die.  The Morning Mocha Designer Series Paper is perfect for Maria because she can't start her day with out her coffee!

This card was by Katie M., from Texas.  On a side note she used to babysit my kids when I lived in Texas.  Her and Maria have become good friends and have a group that they room with.  They have turned Convention into a full on girls week and have quite the good time.  Katie's card is adorable with the new Pennant Punch.  So quick and easy to layer up!

Scrapbook Expo Santa Clara - GREAT TIME!

Well, I am home and unpacked and my office cleaned.  In fact a few of my stamping buddies were over yesterday and we stamped a project. (More on that later!)  My friend Kaylene, who is visiting, came to help out at the booth.

Here she is demoing in the booth.  A few friends came to visit who hadn't seen her in awhile.  Now this week though I need to get ready for the INKERBELLES! Group Get Together this coming Saturday, August 20.  We are going to have Make & Takes with fun Holiday Mini product, Convention Shares and of course visiting and sharing with other Stampin' Up! I was in charge of the Timeless Portrait Section of our booth at the Santa Clara Scrapbook Expo.  This meant I copied a lot of samples from Convention using the Timeless Portrait Suite of products.  These hoops turned out super nice!

Fancy Card Swap!

Now, that those who know me have gotten off the floor after falling out of their chairs! Yes, I did my first organized Convention swap. Actually, my first Convention swap every in 20 years!  A couple of my downline were hosting it and talked me into it - Elizabeth P. and Julie B.  So as a part of it is a blog hop! My first one of those!  So here goes!

This is the card I made.  One of the guidelines is that it had to be a new set in the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.  We couldn't order from that until July 1st and then there was a holiday weekend.  So, I pretty much created the card in my head and had it all done except for the use of the new stamp set Kindness Matters.

I think this is my favorite stamp set in the new catalog and it is a steal only $8.95 in clear! So much potential. Of course I had to use my beloved First Edition Designer Series Paper to make sure I welcomed it to the new catalog!  Ok so you should have joined me from Nancy Ferb's Blog and are now going to Beverly Gomez's Blog. Timeless Portrait Suite

I have shared that I love the various suites of products that Stampin' Up! create in the catalog to make our crafting life easier.  Well, I think my favorite (at least for now) is the Timeless Portrait.  Page 78 of the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog caught my eye on the first pass through the catalog!  I was so excited at convention to see that there were more of these embroidery hoops decorated!

These were all hanging in a tree or propped around a park like setting in Stampin' Up! Product Park!

Its Liz again and its card making time!

It is time for the Stampin’ Up Convention again. Sadly, I can’t attend due to work but I wish I could. I have been to a few Conventions, but the past few I have really come to appreciate what you get out of them. My first one I attended, awhile ago, I went for the “show”, Thuryl Bailey, and to make the cards! Last year, I really went to see the new ideas, learn about the changes and special incentives as well as see my mom walk across for making 20,000 in sales!! This year I could have walked across for my 5 year pin, dang!

Well in light of Convention, I wanted to make a card with a stamp set and paper that is from the new Catalog, and not only from the new catalog, but from the Sneak Peak stuff that if you are a demonstrator you can buy before everyone else! Another reason to be a Stampin Up Demonstrator! *Wink Wink* I used the Flirtatious Designer Series Paper and Delicate Doilies stamp set, as well as the In Color Lucky Limeade. I love this stamp set, because it is very girly, but sophisticated at the same time. I started off with a white background for the card, but was not thrilled with it. I really like the Lucky Limeade, so decided to use that for the main paper in the card. Ribbon is one of my favorite things. In high school I wore ribbon in my hair for volleyball, and in school most of the days. I also love the Lace Ribbon punch, so I combined the two. I made a runner with the punch and laced the ribbon through the punch as shown.

 

After stamping the background with Lucky Limeade ink onto Lucky Limeade paper, I needed a saying. I had my boyfriend pick one so he could feel a part of my card! I used the Decorative Label punch to add a little pizzazz to the saying. I used it twice, ones on the whisper white and then again on the Melon Mambo paper that is part of the Doilies paper set. I made it into a label and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it on the page.

This was the point of the card where I was stumped. I thought it was a good card, but needed a little something more. I called my mom and asked her. She advised me to add some pearls to make it get to the next level. So I added some pearls and here is my finished product: Hope you like it! You can order anything on this card from the new catalog! Hello, My Friend!

WOW! I can't believe this past week got away from me!  I have been busy getting my swaps (yes, I am actually doing an organized swap!), directs gifts (you want to be one of my directs - my convention gift is pretty dang awesome find how you can be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for $99 and attend convention next year!) and swaps for my directs dinner (again become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and attend convention and you will be able to participate!).  But they are finally done and ready to go.  So before I leave I am going to get some posts scheduled to go up and hopefully I will share a couple of things with you while I am there.  The best place to see stuff though is on my facebook - so be sure to go to my page Tami Waddell Creates and like me or become a fan or whatever it is and you will see some of the updates from convention.  Now onto the cute card-

This is one that I made from the pre buy stuff I could order.  The My Friend stamp set is just too cool - I love the swirlies onthis hello!  I am so glad the glimmer brads made it!  WHEW!  I am going through those by the bucket they just look so good!  I haven't used Poppy Parade very much so I am very happy that the In Colors are now around for 2 years since I just discovered this color combination and how happy it is.

I the viney flowery stamp in the stamp set is so great bold or just faintly in the background like I did on this one. 

Ok back to work!  need to pack and  finish getting organized!  Leaving early Tuesday morning!

More Inkerbelles! Dinner Swaps

 

This was our (me and my daughter Elizabeth) swap.  My daughter Liz was a big help when she was home this summer and helped me get alot of stuff done.  One morning I said we need a swap for convention and we went through some cards and found one she liked and changed it to new catalog stuff.  This was the card.  I went out for the day and came back and she had them all done! I guess growing up around Stampin' Up! stuff sinks in.  This card is made with the new Paper Stack of Designer Series Paper.  That meant that we made an assortment of colors from one of the Stacks.  Here is one in another color.

 

I just love this card.  This is also one of my favorite folds.

The big daisy is made with the Big Shot Die.  Katie is one of my demonstrators from when I lived in Texas.  She also used to babysit my kids.  It was pretty fun for her and Liz to see each other.

 

It was so much fun having Liz at convention with me. 

Stampin' Up! Inkerbelles! Convention Dinner

Each year at the Stampin' Up! Convention I host a dinner for my first level downline.  As any good Stampin' Up! event should we had a swap.  

This was the card that Dena R. made for our swap.  Dena had a great year - she earned the Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip - a cruise to Alaska for 2! and Founder's Circle by being in the top 100 Stampin' Up! Demonstrators!  Congrats Dena!  You rock!

 

This was Elizabeth P. card.  Isn't it lovely?  Elizabeth also had a great year - she was awarded a Stampin' Artisan Award!  This is an award based solely on creative entries that you send in to the company.  She won a $500 shopping spree, $500 in cash and the best part was dinner with Shelli and Brent and the other Artisan winners.  It was a lovely evening.

 

This card was made by Jennifer B. She is one of my downline who has no upline between me and her so she joined us.  She also earned the cruise!  This

Stampin' Up! Artisan Awards

Each year Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who want to compete submit an assortment of artistic projects become an Artisan Award winner.  It is quite impressive what these demonstrators create.  This past year Elizabeth Price of my downline was a winner.  She is amazing and the stuff she does is way beyond my creativity and yet most of the time extremely simple.  Be sure to check out our booth at the Scrapbook Expo in Santa Clara, August 6-7. It is amazing what she puts together - you won't want to miss it.

Isn't that gorgeous?  These Artisan Award winners have their pieces published in our monthly Stampin' Success magazine that is sent to all Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.  They also participate making projects for publications in the coming year.

Stampin' Up! Convention Samples

I have been going through the pictures we took at convention and realized quite a few of them are using product from the Holiday Mini.  These products are available for purchase on Sept 1 so I am going to wait to show you some of these until later in August.  But here are some great samples:
