This is a great card using the Proud Peacock set made by Liz P.  The paper is retired from last years 2010-2011 Stampin' Up! 20 years of Creativity!

That is right I will have had 20 years of creativity as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator on August 30 of this year.  I recieved my 20 year pin in yesterdays mail!  I have recruited over 100 direct demonstrators in my time and earned a lot of awards and provided a great income for my family.  BUT the best part is the creativity that I get to share in.  For our recent booth at the Santa Clara Scrapbook Expo we decided to make sure that everything that we made was copied from some source available to Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.

I volunteered to recreate the hoops shown on page 78 of the catalog.  I was so excited when at convention there were even more shown!  I loved them and couldn't stop making them.  Some of the samples I CASEd (copy and share everything!) some other ones that Stampin'  Up! Demonstrators had shared on the forum Stampin' Connection which is only for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.  I even found some cards made in this product grouping - Timeless Portrait and turned them into the hoops.

So you wonder why I mentioned my 20 years as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator at the start of this post?  Well, if I had had to come up with only my original ideas for the last 20 years I am not sure I would have lasted but by sharing through swaps, blogs, forums and such Stampin' Up! Demonstrators can come up with great ideas and keep sharing these ideas with people.

If the thought of "I could never come up some many ideas!" has kept you from being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - think again.  There are so many resources it is harder to pull yourself away to stamp - and I am always amazed at what the final results are when I remembered where I started.  Check it out -it is always a good time to become a Stampin' Up! In fact, a good friend and fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator , Cherie M. and I once did a skit where we pretended to talk on the phone and try to copy a card to each other over the phone. (YES, this was before the internet, YES, I have been a demonstrator that long!)  What was so funny is we described this card exactly (which was inspired by her pajamas which she wore in the skit!) and yet our two cards couldn't have looked more different!

Ok, enough of this - though I am thinking of sharing some great history stories of the old days of Stampin' Up! in the next few weeks as I celebrate my 20 years!  Just beware - I will show cute stamped stuff though (not the stuff I used to make!)

 

 

 

Super Simple Cards

These simple no layer cards are quick and easy to make with our notecards and envelopes.  They are my favorite for a quick stack of cards.  Each month I send cards to Stampin' Up! Demonstrators in my downline who are in the top sales and recruiting in my downline.  I stamp a quick card. usually with no layers, that hopefully they could use as a make & take idea.  These cards were made with 2 stamp sets from the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog, Flower Fest and Happy Greetings.  Flower Fest did make it into the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & catalog, but Happy Greetings did not - so you only have until August 31st to get it and it is a good one.

A Private Class!

Recently, I had a group of ladies to my home for a private class.  This group of ladies schedule a class with me 3-4 times a year.  They requests certain kinds of card but no Big Shot.  They are big crafters but don't want to start something new.  It doesn't seem like work when they come (but  most classes don't!).  Here are are a couple of projects that we made.

This card uses the Beau Chateu Designer Series Paper (one of the choices for Buy 3 get 1 free August Special.)  The 1" strips of paper were inserted into the 1" circle punch from the back and used to punch the rounded ends.  The Build a Cupcake punch is just too stinkin' cute and then add a little glimmer cherry on top!

This was another card.  The Fabulous Florets Stamp set with the Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper (also available in the Buy 3 get 1 free) is a great combination.  The Lace Ribbon Border Punch is such an elegant touch.  Sometimes though I think it is a bit wide and the Wide grosgrain ribbon is also too wide for me, so I cut the ribbon in half which gives it the frayed edge on one side and then laying it over the lace ribbon border it makes that seem a little narrower.  We added a couple of glimmer brads and cute simple card!  Check out the other card we made that day - Blossom Punch Card.

Get a group of your friend (4 minimum) and plan your private class.  You bring the snacks and I will provide the fun projects. 

 

 

Summer Mini - Almost gone!

The Stampin' Up! Summer Mini ends August 31!  A number of items in the Summer Mini will no longer be around so be sure to double check your wish list. In the meantime here are a couple of cards from the Summer Mini.

Julie B. made this great card! I love how she leached the sails of the boat they look so cool on the crumb cake.

Elizabeth P. used this great set - Proud Peacock.  THe way she used the colored embossing powders is awesome.  Wild Wasabit cardstock layer looks like Designer Series Paper in the picture but it is really the flower from the stamp set stamped in white.  Love it!

Speaking of convention, one of the things I do at convention is host a dinner for my direct recruits on the last evening.  It is a lot of fun.  My directs live all over the country and so this is one of the few times a year they see each other and we always laugh and catch up with kids and family and life.  A few years ago we started having a swap.  Here are a couple of cards from this last years swap.

This card is made by Maria G. from Florida.  I just love the cool effect she got with the flower and who doesn't love the fun flowers die.  The Morning Mocha Designer Series Paper is perfect for Maria because she can't start her day with out her coffee!

This card was by Katie M., from Texas.  On a side note she used to babysit my kids when I lived in Texas.  Her and Maria have become good friends and have a group that they room with.  They have turned Convention into a full on girls week and have quite the good time.  Katie's card is adorable with the new Pennant Punch.  So quick and easy to layer up!

Scrapbook Expo Santa Clara - GREAT TIME!

Well, I am home and unpacked and my office cleaned.  In fact a few of my stamping buddies were over yesterday and we stamped a project. (More on that later!)  My friend Kaylene, who is visiting, came to help out at the booth.

Here she is demoing in the booth.  A few friends came to visit who hadn't seen her in awhile.  Now this week though I need to get ready for the INKERBELLES! Group Get Together this coming Saturday, August 20.  We are going to have Make & Takes with fun Holiday Mini product, Convention Shares and of course visiting and sharing with other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.    If you are thinking of becoming a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator give me a call and I will be glad to talk to you.  Now here are some fun photos from our booth.

I was in charge of the Timeless Portrait Section of our booth at the Santa Clara Scrapbook Expo.  This meant I copied a lot of samples from Convention using the Timeless Portrait Suite of products.  These hoops turned out super nice!

Santa Clara Scrapbook Expo

This is what I have been working on for the last couple of days.  It is part of the display for the Santa Clara Scrapbook Expo.  If you come check out our booth you will get to see some great demos of new product and see these items close up.  Plus we have lots more great eye candy in store for you.  It is hard to believe that this came from this.

So off too clean this up and go to bed!
